We are seeking a Head of Clinical Trial Liaison to join our Global Site Management team within Global Clinical Operations. As a senior leader within Global Clinical Operations, you will work with abstract ideas and objectives to solve complex, often precedent-setting problems, directing strategy implementation for a broad, business-critical function spanning multiple disciplines, regions, and study teams. You will lead the activities of a diverse, global team, building and sustaining an industry-leading, field-based operational capability enabled by people, process, and technology, and own line management of Director, CTL Regional Heads. You will partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders and senior leaders across Global Development to align and execute a portfolio-wide, multi-year operational strategy for field-based clinical trial support, reporting into the Head of Global Site Management.

  • Direct strategy implementation for a business-critical, multi-disciplinary field-based operations capability spanning multiple regions
  • Lead the activities of a diverse, global team; own individual career development, performance management, and succession planning for the CTL organization
  • Establish broad, function-wide objectives and develop, modify, and oversee organization-wide policies and processes
  • Provide strategic business oversight of the FSP relationship, ensuring optimum operational effectiveness and quality deliverables
  • Act as the senior point of escalation on complex, often precedent-setting issues
  • Represent Global Site Management and the CTL function across key forums including the GSM Leadership Team, CRO Joint Operating Committee, Clinical Operations Review, and Global Development Compliance and Quality Meeting
  • Maintain a field-facing presence, engaging in site visits with investigator site staff and CRO representatives
  • Apply advanced negotiation and interpersonal skills to secure budgets, resources, and executive sponsorship for CTL initiatives, including Agentic/AI-enabled and technology-driven process innovation
This role requires:
  • Bachelor's Degree and 18+ years of relevant industry and/or CRO experience, including significant experience leading global, multi-disciplinary teams at a senior management level; Master's Degree, MD, or PhD preferred
  • Extensive, expert-level experience in global clinical trial operations, with responsibility for managing financial and people resources across multiple Job Family groups/disciplines
  • Extensive medical and scientific knowledge and clinical development understanding
  • Strong organizational skills, with demonstrated ability to establish org-wide policies and manage large-scale, multi-project portfolios
  • Working knowledge of ICH/GCP and current regulatory guidance (e.g., ICH E6(R3), RBQM guidance)
  • Advanced negotiation and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively across a matrixed, global organization
  • Excellent communicator, able to synthesize complex information and present it to a wide variety of senior audiences, internal and external
  • Ability to build and sustain relationships with the external medical, investigator, and vendor community
  • Cross-cultural awareness and fluency in business English; experience operating across EMEA, JAPAC, US/CA, and/or LATAM regions is highly desirable

$216,100.00 - $360,200.00
