ROLE SUMMARY:
We are seeking a strategic, data-driven, and collaborative Senior Director Category of Walmart to lead and elevate the performance of our Beer and Hard Beverages categories. This role is responsible for developing and executing best-in-class category strategies, translating insights into action, and partnering closely with Walmart to accelerate growth. This is a high-impact leadership role with a large team that requires strong analytical acumen, commercial savviness, technical competence, ability to build and enhance relationships, and a deep understanding of the alcohol category landscape, and ability to articulate data into stories which lead to action.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leverage best-in-class category strategies, translating insights into action, and partnering closely with Walmart to accelerate growth.
Develop strong and impactful retailer relationships by acting as strong thought leader.
Develop compelling, customer-facing category stories and merchandising strategies tailored to Walmart across store types to drive growth.
Define and execute strategy to increase efficiency in our processes & speed to market with insights and mod execution all by leveraging technology
Oversee the synthesis of syndicated data (e.g., Nielsen, Circana, Numerator, Luminate), shopper research, and POS insights into actionable recommendations
Monitor category performance and competitive activity to proactively adapt strategies and inform Walmart and AB leadership on emerging trends
Create and present executive-level reports and dashboards summarizing category health, growth drivers, and strategic initiatives
Coach and develop a high-performing Category team, fostering a culture of excellence
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree; emphasis in business, economics, or marketing related fields - highly preferred.
10+ years experience, preferably in consumer-packaged goods
Previous category management experience required
Ability to understand and develop strategic direction and plans to drive results
Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop and engage a high-performing team
Strong interpersonal communications skills, both verbal and written
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with employees, retailers, and all external partners
Excellent project and time management skills
Very well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to work well in a fast-paced environment simultaneously juggling multiple projects, deliverables, and deadlines
Strong familiarity with panel and syndicated data, software, and measures (e.g., Circana, Nielsen, Luminate, etc.)
