Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in maintaining and scaling our disruption analysis platform. Our stack leverages modern cloud-native technologies to deliver a robust API-driven service with real-time capabilities, microfrontends, and automated infrastructure. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, monitoring, and security practices to ensure high availability, scalability, and reliability. This role involves close collaboration with development teams to streamline deployments and enhance system performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, building, and deployment of applications using GitHub Actions, ensuring efficient workflows for NestJS backend and React frontend components.

• Manage and automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, ensuring environments are scalable, secure, and cost-effective on AWS (including EKS, RDS, ECS, S3, VPC, and OIDC).

• Deploy and manage containerized applications with Docker and orchestrate them using Kubernetes (via Helm and Helmfile) across development, staging, and production environments.

• Write scripts in Python or powershell to automate manual tasks and to get data from various tools like Github

• Monitor system health, performance, and logs using tools Datadog, Cloud Watch, Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack, and implement alerting for proactive issue resolution.

• Optimize database performance and backups for PostgreSQL (with Sequelize ORM), RDS including migration management and query optimization.

• Configure and maintain job queues and caching with Redis/Bull/sidekiq ensuring efficient background processing and real-time messaging via Pusher.

• Implement security best practices, including vulnerability scanning, IAM policies, and compliance with industry standards (e.g., SOC 2, GDPR), while addressing concerns like rate limiting and credential management.

• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive incident response processes for complex data processing pipelines.

• Contribute to capacity planning, disaster recovery strategies, and cost optimization initiatives.

• Mentor junior team members and promote a culture of automation, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• 6+ years of relevant experience in DevOps or related roles.

• Strong proficiency in infrastructure as code with Terraform and configuration management.

• Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes, Helm).

• Expertise in cloud platforms, particularly AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, EKS, etc.).

• Solid understanding of CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions) and scripting (Bash, Python, or similar).

• Experience with databases (PostgreSQL, Sequelize) and caching/queuing systems (Redis, Bull).

• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Datadog, Cloud watch).

• Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Powershell

• Knowledge of networking, security (IAM, VPC, firewalls), and performance optimization.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

• Experience with microservices architectures (NestJS), API gateways, and real-time systems (Pusher).

• Proficiency in programming languages or scripting languages like Node.js, TypeScript, or React for debugging and collaboration.

• Certifications like AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Kubernetes Certified Administrator (CKA), or Terraform Associate.
