The role / impact
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be a key player in supporting our product development teams, ensuring smooth and efficient deployments for our cutting-edge tax products. You will guide and mentor engineers, promote best practices, and automate infrastructure tasks to build a robust and scalable environment that enables continuous delivery.
Your work involves the design, implementation, and management of AWS infrastructure to ensure high availability. By identifying opportunities to optimise performance and improve release processes, you will help provide a better experience for our customers and help small businesses thrive.
The team / how they connect
You will join the Tax Enablement Team, a virtual group of subject matter experts who provide DevOps and infrastructure enablement services across the Tax engineering teams. The team is spread across Australia, New Zealand, and the UK, and you will primarily work with AU/NZ based teams part of APAC tax, collaborating closely in a distributed environment to support various product development journeys.
The team is currently working on
Supporting tax product teams with their CI/CD journeys and development pipelines.
Building a robust, scalable environment to enable continuous delivery of both AWS EC2 and Kubernetes (EKS) runtime environments.
Leading hands-on security patching, infrastructure hardening, and security development initiatives.
Refactoring complex, monolithic systems into scalable, resilient distributed components.

This role is open to anyone in the AU Eastern State time zone. We’re big on hybrid work and genuine flexibility, so you’ll have the freedom to balance time in our collaborative office spaces with working from home in a way that works for everyone.
Here are some of the things we are looking for
You will bring deep expertise in Infrastructure as Code and experience managing high-availability environments within AWS.
Your background includes a strong proficiency in container operations, specifically using Kubernetes.
You have a track record of implementing CI/CD concepts and automated tooling to release code safely and repeatedly.
You possess the ability to coach and mentor other engineers, sharing knowledge through documentation, runbooks, and pairing.
Your toolkit includes coding or scripting skills and the ability to debug across a diverse technology stack.
You are a proactive problem-solver who enjoys working autonomously while maintaining strong communication within a distributed team.
