About us:
At MTS (Misr Technology Services), we aren't just building software; we are building the digital backbone of Egypt’s global trade. As the architects behind Nafeza, Egypt’s National Single Window for Foreign Trade, we’ve taken on the monumental task of consolidating and automating the country’s entire trade ecosystem into one highperformance, unified platform.
What we’re looking for
  •  Minimum 5 years of professional experience as a DevOps Engineer, supporting development teams across mixed technology stacks.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience in similar technical roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD platforms, covering pipeline design, optimization, and security controls.
  • Hands-on experience managing the operational lifecycle of microservice architectures, including service discovery, load balancing, and cross-service observability, monitoring lag metrics, and optimizing throughput/latency for high-performance microservice communication.
  • Deep proficiency in architecting and operationalizing high-performance Ingress and Edge traffic solutions. Extensive experience with Nginx, or Envoy-based controllers, utilizing modern Gateway API standards to manage complex L7 routing, load balancing, and SSL/TLS termination.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience architecting and managing production-grade container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, OpenShift, or Rancher). Must demonstrate a deep understanding of Kubernetes internals, including API machinery, etcd consistency, and CNI/CSI integration.
  • Strong background in the deployment, tuning, and scaling of message brokers (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ), with a focus on ensuring high availability, partition management, and data retention policies.
  • Solid understanding of build and dependency management tools, including language-specific toolchains for PHP, Java, NodeJS, Python and .NET
  • Hands-on experience developing and maintaining Helm charts and Kustomize overlays, with a strict focus on configuration hygiene, modularity, and DRY principles for multi-environment application releases.
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools, such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki and ELK Stack.
  • Proven track record of architecting large-scale environments using Terraform, emphasizing strict state management hygiene, automated linting (TFLint/Checkov), and CI/CD integration. We value candidates who move beyond manual provisioning toward a fully automated, CAPI-driven infrastructure-as-software model.
  • Practical experience with large-scale databases, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB, ElasticSearch covering performance, backup, and availability.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with excellent communication abilities, ownership mindset, and a structured approach to understanding how complex systems interact.
What you’ll do:
  • You won't just "install" tools; you will architect and evolve our global container orchestration strategy. You’ll design high-performance Kubernetes environments, with a relentless focus on manifest hygiene, modularity, and DRY principles. You will translate complex technical needs into scalable, hardened implementations that serve as the backbone for our distributed systems.
  • Design and build sophisticated, GitOps-driven deployment pipelines that treat infrastructure as a first-class citizen. You will define the standards for routine maintenance and upgrades, ensuring our microservices—including high-throughput message brokers like Kafka and RabbitMQ— remain stable under load. When systems fail, you’ll lead deep-dive troubleshooting and rootcause analysis to ensure high availability and prevent recurrence.
  • Evaluate existing applications, platforms, and infrastructure, perform gap analysis to identify performance, scalability, and improvements in reliability. Recommend and implement the most practical and cost-effective solutions.
  • As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be a part of a team that is setting the "Gold Standard" for DevOps practices. You’ll mentor junior engineers, lead cross-functional collaboration between Dev and Ops, and evangelize a culture of automation and observability. Your goal is to ensure our delivery pipelines are not just fast, but consistent, secure, and predictable.

What We Do

Misr Technology Services (MTS) has been established as an Egyptian joint stock company. The shareholders’ structure consists of the “Ministry of Finance”, the Egyptian Company for the Management of Financial Facilities “eFinance”, the “National Investment Bank”, the “Egyptian Company for Investment Projects”, and “Amiral Management Corporation”. MTS is the technical arm of the Ministry of Finance in the field of customs and its relationship with taxes.

Misr Technology Services (MTS) was awarded a contract with the Ministry of Finance to “enhance the current trade across borders system in Egypt using “Single Window” concept”. The project was code named “NAFEZA”.
NAFEZA System is a platform upon which an integrated set of business applications operates to automate & orchestrate import/export/transit cargo clearance activities from cargo arrival to cargo clearance using a “Single Window” concept. With the project extension to implement “Advance Cargo Information“ concept to control the importation process prior to loading shipments from the countries of export, NAFEZA System currently controls the importation process end-to-end.

In this regard, NAFEZA System represents the single point facility for Egyptian importers, exporters, brokers, shipping lines, and freight forwarders (Trade Community) to submit electronic data/documents and/or lodge data to Customs remotely in a secure manner. It also represents the only façade for communication between the Trade Community and the designated government authorities operating inside and/or outside the port (Government). This is achieved using online services on NAFEZA portal. Furthermore, NAFEZA provides customers services through a network of Logistic Services Centers which MTS established at the ports.
