SS&C is the largest global investor service provider, servicing more than 55 million investors. Continually investing in global technology and services across the spectrum of distribution channels including: Asset Managers, Financial Advisors, Wealth Managers and large financial institutions such as Banks and Insurers. Investor servicing is offered in many different countries, including the U.S., Canada, U.K., Ireland, Luxembourg, Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore. Global Investor and Distribution Solutions (GIDS) is the business unit offering this role. GIDS delivers global omni-channel investor servicing, including contact centre, using digital services.

About the role

Leading the DevOps team with responsibility for supporting existing DevOps tools in addition to designing & building new capabilities. This role will primarily be supporting the SS&C managed services platform which hosts in-house developed software applications for our customers on AWS.
 

Your Responsibilities

• Leads a team of individual contributors who participate in the day-to-day automation of the end-to-end process from application build to application deployment, including aspects of the continuous integration and continuous delivery process.
• Participates on project teams between operations and software engineering, providing in-depth knowledge and direction on the rapid build, deployment, and operation of various systems & infrastructure components.
• Adapts project plans and priorities to address resource challenges.
• Guides the installation, creation, and enhancement of automation tools and workflow capabilities that support the coding lifecycle.
• Partners with agile software engineering team leaders to prioritize incremental product deployments and the handling of deployments to the test and production environments.

Your Experience

• 5+ years experience working in a DevOps role
• Experience deploying and operating Kubernetes at scale
• Experience with on-premise / cloud hybrid systems.
• Strong experience with IaC, in particular Terraform.
• Experience working collaboratively with various engineering teams to figure out how to best suit their needs.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Has experience, or is willing, to manage the workloads for a team of DevOps Engineers
• Experience migrating existing systems to the cloud, preferably via a MicroServices approach.
• A passion for automating manual processes
• Keen to continuously improve & innovate
