Job brief:
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join the Central Facilities Team in our Andover, MA office. The Central Facilities team is responsible for delivering backend solutions supporting hundreds of clients, ingesting many terabytes of data, and distributing millions of data products per day. The team operates on a cloud-based platform that ingests, processes, aggregates, and distributes real-time weather and aviation data through backend microservices. The team works within an Agile environment, where reliability, performance, and attention to detail are valued and critical. In this role, you will be collaborating with software engineers to develop and implement technologies and processes to ensure the delivery of secure, optimized systems into production reliably, safely, and rapidly.
The impact you'll make:
- Participate in 24x7 on-call rotations (approximately one out of every four weeks).
- Monitor and manage infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to application development, deployment, and operations.
- Plan for disaster recovery and capacity growth.
- Develop and deploy internal services and tools.
- Implement and maintain version control systems.
- Investigate and evaluate new technologies and tools to enhance team productivity.
- Manage your time and participate in an agile development process.
What you've accomplished:
- BS Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps roles
- Strong knowledge of programming languages such as Python and Java
- Strong experience building infrastructure in AWS
- Strong background in infrastructure automation, cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization technologies such as FluxCD, Jenkins, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes
- Strong Linux experience
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure
- Expertise in Agile/Scrum methodologies
