Team Overview
The Trusted Call Solutions Team within TransUnion’s Global Technology organization develops and delivers mission-critical voice and data services that enable secure, reliable communications for global carriers, enterprises, and industry partners. The team builds scalable, cloud-native platforms and microservices that address real-world telecommunications challenges while supporting TransUnion's broader commitment to trust, identity, and fraud prevention.This role is part of the Global Technology Engineering organization and collaborates closely with Product Management, Solution Architects, Customer Delivery, Operations, and Engineering teams across multiple regions. This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
Role Overview And Core Responsibilities
As a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer, you will design, develop, deploy, and maintain highly available, cloud-native applications and microservices supporting TransUnion's Trusted Call Solutions portfolio. The role requires strong backend engineering expertise, experience with modern distributed systems, and the ability to collaborate with customers, partners, and cross-functional teams to deliver innovative technology solutions.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable, fault-tolerant microservices and distributed applications serving global carriers and enterprise customers.
- Collaborate with Product Managers and business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and translate complex business requirements into technical solutions.
- Architect and implement high-performance, highly available applications leveraging modern cloud-native and microservices-based architectures.
- Develop secure RESTful APIs and backend services while ensuring adherence to engineering standards, coding best practices, and system performance requirements.
- Participate actively in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, design discussions, retrospectives, and code reviews.
- Contribute to CI/CD automation, testing frameworks, deployment pipelines, and operational excellence initiatives to improve software quality and delivery speed.
- Create technical designs, architecture documentation, solution specifications, and customer-facing technical documents, including acceptance test plans.
- Partner with QA, Operations, and Customer Delivery teams to troubleshoot production issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and deliver sustainable resolutions.
- Execute integration testing activities with customers, partners, and external participants across cloud-based testing environments.
- Mentor engineers, share technical expertise, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance engineering efficiency, scalability, and best practices.
Required Knowledge And Experiences
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience demonstrating advanced software engineering expertise.
- Minimum 6+ years of software development experience, including the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise-grade applications in Agile environments.
- Minimum 3+ years of object-oriented design and programming experience, with strong understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and scalable system design.
- Strong knowledge of RESTful services, API architecture, and cloud-native microservices patterns, enabling the delivery of highly scalable and resilient distributed systems.
- Deep understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, system design, problem-solving methodologies, and performance optimization techniques.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, customers, and external stakeholders to gather requirements, design solutions, and support production systems.
- Knowledge of information security concepts including cryptography, encryption, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), and X.509 digital certificate management, supporting secure communication platforms and identity validation capabilities.
- Experience integrating and leveraging open-source technologies and frameworks to accelerate solution delivery and improve platform capabilities.

Skills Required
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Minimum 6+ years of software development experience
- Minimum 3+ years of object-oriented design and programming experience
- Solid understanding of RESTful systems and good API design
- Proven experience building and deploying production-grade cloud-native microservices
- Proficiency in one or more: Java, C++, Python, Go
- Experience with Spring framework (Spring Boot, Spring Batch, Spring Data)
- Proven experience with RDBMS
- Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB or Cassandra preferred)
- Computer Science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, problem solving; JSON/YAML familiarity
- Understanding of cryptography, encryption, and PKI Digital Certificate Management (X.509)
- Experience with CI/CD and modern DevOps practices
- Familiarity with Git, JIRA, and Slack (Agile development toolchain)
- Familiarity with open-source development and integrating open-source components
- OpenStack (KVM, qcow2, HEAT), AWS (AMI, CloudFormation), VMware (OVA, ESXi)
- Container deployments with Docker and Kubernetes
- Orchestration/automation with Ansible (Python custom modules)
- Automation/testing experience with Cucumber (Ruby/Java)
- Messaging/streaming experience (Kafka)
- Monitoring and observability: Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk
- Documentation-as-code techniques
- Telecom and network protocols: SIP, DNS, HTTP, SSL, STIR/SHAKEN, OAuth2
- Experience with 3rd-party network elements: Asterisk, FreeSWITCH, Oracle/Acme SBC, Cisco CUCM
- UI development experience with Angular or React
