Join the Mizuho team as a Senior Developer & Solutions Architect (.Net / Python / Microservices / MuleSoft / Kafka)
In this role, you will be responsible for design, development and architecture of web applications and various system components including but not limited to web modules, web services and database programs. You will take complete ownership of applications/tasks assigned to them in terms of ongoing development as well as system testing, change management and production support for the assigned applications.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Systems Design, Development and Support
- System and Requirements Analysis
- Design and development of software applications used in various areas of the bank (such as Customer Reporting, Payment Systems, etc.)
- Systems Design & Architecture using well accepted design patterns and frameworks
- Documentation of technical specs and process flows
- Migration planning
- System Testing: DUT, SIT and UAT (Planning, execution and evaluation)
- Issues resolution – use of tools such as JIRA and TFS for issue lifecycle management
- Production Release preparation and coordination with server-admins
Other Responsibilities
- No direct reports but this person should be able to run small to medium projects and support other developers and team members
- Coordinate with resources from other teams that are necessary to complete projects and implement or upgrade hardware, operating systems, application software, etc.
- Undertake complete ownership of assigned tasks and manage own priorities and time allocation with minimal daily supervision.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS OR EXPERIENCE:
Business Knowledge and Skills
- At least 10 years of prior work experience with at least 3 or more in the banking sector
Technical Skills
CORE – MUST HAVE
- Expert level knowledge of.Net technologies such as C#, VB.Net, .Net Core
- Experience working with event/queue-based processes such as Kafka & ActiveMQ
- In depth experience with web programming (HTML 5, JavaScript, XML/JSON/YAML, SOAP/Restful Web Services, WCF, MVC, AJAX, JQuery, Node JS, Angular, etc.)
- Strong experience working with Python scripts for data processing and test automation
- DevOps experience working with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub/ GitLab, etc.
- Deep understanding of MS SQL Server databases and data processing
- Solid understanding of Object-Oriented programming and design patterns
- Multi-threading applications for high volume processing
- Ability to troubleshoot production issues under pressure and in a timely manner.
- Ability to analyze and document business and system process flows.
- Strong understanding of Windows Server, IIS and Windows/Linux Security principles
NICE TO HAVE
- Development experience with various Azure offerings & services
- Working experience with OpenShift container platform
- Working experience with MuleSoft tools
- Reporting Services such as Crystal Reports, SSRS, and Power BI etc.
- Experience with Python scripts and/or ETL Tools for data processing
- Deep understanding of both Windows and Unix/Linux based systems
Other
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science or related field;
- Ability to work with end users, technical staff and management as necessary.
- Strong documentation and verbal/written communication skills.
- Strong multi-tasking and analytical skills;

The expected base salary ranges from $105k-$170k. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
