Senior Developer (Remote Opportunity)

VetsEZ is seeking a remote Senior Developer to support the Department of Veterans Affairs. The Senior Developer will design and code functional programs and applications that meet client requirements and deadlines. You'll work independently and as part of a collaborative team of IT professionals. This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical background, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage complex projects with minimal supervision.

The candidate must reside within the continental US.

Responsibilities:

• Translate client requirements into high-quality, fully functional software applications that meet technical specifications and deadlines.
• Work with a team of developers to set technical specifications and create creative prototypes that match the project’s vision.
• Write high-quality source code in various programming languages and troubleshoot and debug applications to ensure smooth performance.
• Conduct unit and integration testing before launch, ensuring the application meets both functional and non-functional requirements.
• Review and enhance existing applications by reprogramming, updating, or adding new features to improve functionality.
• Prepare clear technical documents and handbooks that accurately represent the design and code of each application.
• Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team objectives and ensure the success of the project.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 3+ years of experience as an Application Developer with a proven ability to design and build applications.
• Strong experience in at least one programming language such as C#, Java (J2EE), or similar.
• Familiarity with programming across diverse operating systems and platforms using development tools.
• Solid understanding of software design and programming principles, focusing on producing clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
• Experience with modern development tools and frameworks.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, time-management, and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail.

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience with SAFe/Agile.
• Experience with the VA or other Government agencies.
• Ability to obtain a government clearance.
