Purpose of the Job
The Senior Designer, Public Site, will lead all aspects of designfor eqbank.ca.This role demands a designer who not only excels in creating aesthetically pleasing layouts but also deeply understands the nuances of user communication and how design impacts conversion metrics. The ideal candidate will thrive in an environment of continuous testing and optimization, using data-driven insights to refine and elevate the website's design to achieve business goals.

- Communication-Centric Design: Lead the communication design for eqbank.ca, ensuring every visual element speaks clearly and persuasively to our target audience, driving user engagement and conversions.
- High-Impact Layouts: Develop and refine layouts that are not only visually compelling but also strategically designed to guide users through their journey on the website, optimizing for conversion at every step.
- Data-Informed Decision Making: Use A/B testing, heatmaps, and analytics to inform and iterate on design choices, ensuring that every design decision contributes to improved performance metrics.
- Consistent Visual Language: Maintain and evolve the visual identity of EQ Bank across all touchpoints on the public site, ensuring consistency in typography, color schemes, and overall design language.
- Rapid Prototyping & Testing: Quickly turn concepts into wireframes, mockups, and prototypes, facilitating frequent testing and iteration cycles to refine designs based on real user feedback.
- Conversion Optimization: Work closely with the marketing and product teams to identify key conversion opportunities and develop design strategies that maximize user engagement and conversion rates.
Let's talk about you!
- Have completed various academic backgrounds including UX, Design, Information System Design, Psychology, Architecture
- Have at least 5+ years of experience in design with a strong focus on web design (fintech, financial services or e-commerce preferred)
- Have at least 2+ years of Mobile-first experience with strong ability to differentiate between desktop and mobile paradigms, behavioral nuances, constraints, and capabilities
- At-scale thinker, starts with big picture and designs the end-to-end experience, including information architecture, user journeys, concept sketches to high fidelity designs
- Data informed designer with great A/B Testing and research knowledge
- Hands-on experience in design research methods and ability to collaborate with research team
- Keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of visual hierarchy, typography, and color theory
- Solid understanding of grid systems, typography, web and mobile design trends
- Fluent in design and project management tools, including Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Jira, Confluence.
