As a Senior Designer on our Design Systems team at Nextdoor, you’ll design digital experiences that empower neighbors to build stronger communities and transform how people connect and engage with their local area. In this role, you’ll define and deliver new experiences across multiple platforms as well as work cross-functionally to shape the future of the Nextdoor product as we continue to grow.

Your responsibilities will include:
- You’ll work closely with executive leadership to help us define and launch an entirely new design language across our end to end product experience
- You’ll collaborate closely with our marketing team to help elevate our brand identity
- You’ll envision, design, and ship delightful, user-centered, cross-platform experiences that build the fabric of local communities around the globe
- You’ll be involved in all aspects of the product development for a foundational product area; from strategy, research, prototyping, concept to interaction design, to final QA and code tweaks right before launch
- You’ll participate in cross-functional brainstorms, discussions, design reviews and interesting and inspiring design team activities
- Participate in in-person Nextdoor events, trainings, off-sites, volunteer days, and other team building exercises
- Build in-person relationships with team members and contribute to the KIND culture that Nextdoor values
What You’ll Bring To The Team
- 5-7 years demonstrated experience building and shipping design systems across a variety of platforms preferably including work on social networks, or relational models and/or the ability to perform at an advanced level in the domain
- Experience designing robust design systems, including components, design tokens, iconography, typography, animation, pattern libraries and clean documentation
- A strong background in visual design with understanding of how layout, hierarchy, balance, color and balance impact user experience
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills. The ability to both inspire and deliver incredible design systems work
- Bring a deep empathy for customer needs and insights as well as an intuitive grasp of the business problems we’re trying to solve
- Comfort working in a fast paced environment from ideation to delivering pixel-level details for front-end development and implementation
- Fluency with both mobile and responsive web design principles and best practices
Rewards
Compensation, benefits, perks, and recognition programs at Nextdoor come together to create our rewards package. Total compensation will vary depending on your relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
The starting salary for this role is expected to range from $176,000 to $200,000 on an annualized basis, or potentially greater in the event that your 'level' of proficiency exceeds the level expected for the role. Compensation may also vary by geography.
We expect to award a meaningful equity grant for this role. With equal quarterly vesting, your first vest date will take place within the first 3 months of your start date.
