By collaborating with engineers, product managers, brand + marketing, and sourcing + manufacturing, you’ll refine and perfect offerings that seamlessly fit into the lives of consumers, making every cut, snip, and trim an elevated experience. You’ll lead the design process from concept to creation, ensuring that every detail meets our high standards of quality and functionality. Your work will not only influence the product but also the experience of our consumers, making their everyday extraordinary.

This position is based in Middleton, WI US and reports to Doug Nelson, Lead Design Engineer. The role is full-time and a hybrid role (a blend of in-office + remote work - weekly: 3-4 days in-office; 1-2 days remote).

AS A SENIOR DESIGN ENGINEER, YOU WILL

  • Lead the design and development of consumer products from concept to final 3D files and specifications
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to bring designs to life
  • Ensure product requirements are met through direct communication with factories, sourcing offices, and suppliers
  • Create 3D CAD models, develop technical documentation, and prepare designs for production
  • Prototype, test, and validate designs to meet specifications and quality standards
  • Document performance requirements and product acceptance criteria
  • Participate in marketing research and translate findings into design concepts
  • Support cost-reduction initiatives by adjusting technical specifications

WHO YOU ARE

  • Excellent problem-solver with a keen sense of priority management
  • Curiosity infused approach with consumer needs at the center
  • Values working in an engaged + collaborative team + the ongoing development of yourself and others
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in durable consumer products design
  • Advanced skills in 3D CAD/solid modeling, preferably SolidWorks
  • Experience in prototype fabrication and performance testing
  • Bonus: Surface modeling and FEA simulation skills
