Senior Database Developer

Responsibilities
Extensive hands-on experience in Install, configure standalone and HA envs, database migrations from lower to higher versions, Database Backup & Recovery and Performance Tuning
Good experience on Database development and programming, primarily responsible for design, program, develop and implement database systems
Experience on implementing and managing Windows clustering and AlwaysOn Failover Cluster Instances (FCI), Always-On Availability Groups, Mirroring and Log shipping
Ability to diagnose problems and triage/resolve issues across various tiers (application, network, database, server, or storage tiers)
Analyze, solve, and prepare RCA for production outages. Debug and troubleshoot database system failures and provide solutions quickly
Implementation experience on database maintenance plans, including rebuilding/reorganizing indexes, integrity checks and improve database performance, slow running queries / processing
Work with Cloud Engineering teams to develop the enterprise internal & external cloud strategic vision that satisfies CDK's business objectives, strategy and long-term growth plan
Coordinate with Architecture, Operations, Storage, Networking and Software Development teams to develop a highly-extensible cloud service environment that can be adopted and integrated in a wide range of scenarios through API’s
Perform infrastructure service implementations, performance analysis and optimization, monitoring, problem resolution, upgrade planning and execution, and process creation and documentation
Participate in cloud based services planning, design and implementation, particularly in monitoring and management of systems that may live outside the organization, including third-party cloud service providers
Qualifications & Experience

• 6+ years of rich experience on multiple database technologies (i.e Oracle, Postgres, SQL server, MySQL and Mongo)
• 3+ years of database development experience with strong automation mindset
• 2+ years of experience Cloud provisioning, AWS DB's, storage & network
• 2+ years of development in the following languages: Python, Ruby, Powershell or any scripting language
• 2+ years managing and scripting server orchestration and management tasks for Linux and Windows environments
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Positive attitude and strong commitment to delivering quality work

• Trains and guides others in work area on technical skills
• Networks with senior colleagues in own area of expertise

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field with at least 3 years of experience or a Master's degree; OR in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, at least 5 years of experience
• Understanding of utilizing Agile software development methodologies
• Deep knowledge of at least one programming language along with ability to execute on complex programming tasks.
• Ability to document, track and monitor a problem/issue to a timely resolution
• Knowledge of operating systems
• Collaborative problem-solving ability and self-motivated
• Strong verbal and written communication skills along with prioritization of duties
