About the role:

*** SHIFT TIMING: 3PM to 12AM (3 days in office)

The Senior Database & Backend Developer will bring strong expertise in Oracle, SQL, and modern software engineering practices, with PHP and C# considered advantageous. Working closely with Apex Group’s Europe Technology team, the role focuses on developing, maintaining, and enhancing applications, API integrations, and automation solutions to improve operational efficiency, support ESG solutions, and deliver enhanced digital client services.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Working as part of a squad, delivering through agile methodologies

  • Design, prototype, develop, test, and deploy applications and on business requirements using agreed design patterns

  • Automation, management of Infra as Code stack

  • Optimizing the build and release process

  • Working in collaboration with stakeholders and peers to identify requirements;

  • Solve software engineering challenges, providing help in breaking down large problems into smaller iterative steps

  • Contribute to defining the prioritization of your squad’s backlog

  • Contribute to the continuous development and maturing of design patterns for others to follow

  • Pick the most appropriate tool, method, and design pattern to satisfy business requirements

  • Proactively improve things when issues are identified

  • Provide guidance and training to other squad members

  • Provide assistance, guidance and training to the applications and API’s consumers

  • Any other duties in the scope of the role that the company requires

What You Bring

  • Oracle PL/SQL stored procedures

  • SCM (Git) and SQL

  • Database performance and optimization

  • ETLs and data calculation and aggregation processes

  • Strong understanding of software architecture and software development fundamentals

  • Good understanding and experience following test-driven development and continuous integration & delivery practices.

  • Advanced experience with standard tools used for software development like Git, Azure DevOps
