Senior Database Administrator
Job Responsibilities:
- Leads the architecture, engineering, implementation, and operations of all data systems to support scalability, availability, and performance.
- Collaborate with engineering teams through the entire software development lifecycle to solve complex problems while maintaining database standards and best practices.
- Responsible for ensuring application/database stability and functionality, including all environments: development, test, and production
- Monitor, investigate, and troubleshoot production database issues, coordinate incident recovery, and communicate to respective support teams and engineering leaders.
- Help maintain all data stores on AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Work with our strategic reporting and data analysis teams to help build/refresh data warehouse.
- Off-hours support is required as needed.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Administrator/Engineer
- Experience managing databases on Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud platform (EC2 & RDS)
- Experience in Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or newer
- Experience with Microsoft SQL AlwaysOn HA and SAN environments
- Experience with Redshift and PostgreSQL
- Designing and implementing disaster recovery solutions, including geo-replicated scenarios
- Strong TSQL, Powershell, and Python skills
- Strong experience with query performance improvements
- Strong knowledge of relational design best practices
- Strong knowledge of data warehouse design (star schema, snowflake etc)
- Good written and verbal communication skills to interact with engineers and managers alike
- Continuous deployment experience
Preferred Skills:
- Database agnostic approach. Willing to work with new and emerging technologies
- Working knowledge of AWS high availability and disaster recovery (HA/DR)
- High level experience in Data Science and data science tooling
- Experience in the development and administration of MongoDB
- Experience in the development and administration of Redis
- Experience in the development and administration of Solr
- Experience with operating systems like UNIX, LINUX, CentOS
- Exposure to working inside an Agile development organization
Location: Austin, TX 78701, remote or hybrid optional team environment

Salary: $140-155k base salary ($160-175k total comp including 401k matching, paid insurance, bonus, etc.)
