Caterpillar Inc. seeks Senior Data Specialist at its facility located at 540 W Madison St, Floor 14, Chicago, IL 60661.
Data design, data quality, metadata management, data governance or data architecture (25% of time spent on these job duties). Develop data object pipeline specifications including detailed field level mapping, business rules, data quality rules, etc (25% of time spent on these job duties). Document data models for domains to be deployed including a logical data model, candidate source lists, and canonical formats (20% of time spent on these job duties). Design robust, scalable database and data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) solutions (15% of time spent on these job duties). Work directly on complex problems and provide solutions aligned with overall objectives of Cat Digital (15% of time spent on these job duties). Telecommuting: 1 day/week.
REQS: This position requires a master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related field and 3 years of experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer or related occupation. In the alternative will accept bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related field and 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer or related occupation.
Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Computer Architecture and systems Software Infrastructure; (2) AWS tools such as CloudWatch logging, Lambda service, Simple Queue Service (SQS), Simple Notification Service (SNS), Simple Storage Service (S3), DynamoDB / NoSQL, or Relational Database Service (RDS); (3) API and scripting tools such as PowerShell, SQL, JSON, Python, Apigee, or Postman; (4) Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), CloudFormation, Elastic Compute Cloud(EC2), Identity and Access Management (IAM), Elastic BlockStore (EBS), or Elastic Container Service (ECS); and (5) Data cleansing, conforming or correlation of transactional data sets.
Summary Pay Range:
$160,555.00 - $169,060.00 Per Year
