C.H Robinson is seeking a Senior Data Scientist on our Matching team to uncover predictions from data and drive real time recommendations to our users and software platforms. We are on a mission to disrupt the logistics industry and take our technology to new heights with data science. From designing systems that monitor data streams to automatically respond to business requests, to adding machine learning pipelines that enhance existing algorithms embedded into our industry leading platform products, everything you work on will have an impact. In this role, you will work with a small team to leverage large language models (LLMs) to automate a variety of business tasks. You will work with the team to translate a business opportunity into a Data Science question, use your mathematical and statistical toolset to model relevant data and prove the impact of your algorithm. Finally, you will work with our team of machine learning engineers and software developers to take R&D code to production!

Responsibilities:
Evaluate and understand current & nascent modelling methods in the Data Science space
Maintain, expand, and ensure the data quality of natural language
Train and evaluate Large Language Models on a variety of topics
Work closely with business stakeholders to deliver new Natural Language Processing & Artificial Intelligence products
Develop new features for existing algorithms through statistical and machine learning methodologies
Validate and implement modeling improvements to increase accuracy of data science Algorithms
Embrace an R&D mindset through Rapid Prototyping & Iterative Experimentation
Work closely with Tech delivery teams to productionize successful models in an on-demand environment
Required Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in advanced analytics, machine learning and/or data science or one year of professional experience with an advanced degree (Masters or PhD)
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline
Familiarity with transfer learning & large language models
Experience transforming datasets to improve model performance
Experience training neural networks, especially as it relates to transfer learning
Experience in programming: Python or R
Familiarity with data fundamentals including SQL
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with Azure-ML Platform
Familiarity with BERT models
Experience with PyTorch and/or Tensorflow
Experience building and interacting with APIs
Experience with streaming services such as Kafka
Proven ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and out-of-the-box thinking

Strong sense of urgency and an ability to prioritize work effectively to maximize output and productivity

Compensation Range
$92,000.00 - $203,900.00The base pay range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum base pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Your individual base pay within this range is determined by work location, which takes into account geographic cost of labor, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base pay only and do not include additional variable compensation.
