We are seeking an exceptional Senior Data Scientist to work on the core systems that power our product, including but not limited to provider recommendation and population health algorithms, A/B testing for engagement and healthcare outcomes, and product analytics. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping how we use data to steer members to better healthcare outcomes, partnering with Product Managers and Engineers to deliver high performing systems at scale. Garner’s member app guides members through their healthcare journey to ensure they receive high quality care while ensuring provider affordability and availability.
Where you will work:This role will be based in our New York City office. You must be willing to work in the office 3 days per week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
What you will do:- Build data-driven algorithms that power Garner’s recommendation engine
- Deliver systems that proactively identify high-risk members and enable timely, customized care navigation interventions
- Own the KPIs and metrics that we use to measure the success of our member activation efforts, engagement tactics, and doctor recommendations
- Develop a strong understanding of the healthcare economy
- 3+ years of experience using Python and SQL to build production, data-driven algorithms
- Familiarity with optimization algorithms and applied machine learning techniques, including recommendation systems and gradient-boosted models (e.g., XGBoost)
- Strong ability to match the right tools and techniques to real-world problems.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to synthesize complex information for both business and technical stakeholders
- A desire to be a part of a high-performing, mission-driven team that operates with intense urgency, a strong sense of individual accountability, and a commitment to authentic feedback

Compensation Transparency:The target salary range for this position is $200,000 - $240,000. Individual compensation for this role will depend on various factors, including qualifications, skills, and applicable laws. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible to participate in our equity incentive and competitive benefits plans, including but not limited to: flexible PTO, Medical/Dental/Vision plan options, 401(k) with company match, flexible spending accounts, Teladoc Health and more.
