Senior Data Scientist

Job Brief
VentureDive is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Scientist. This individual will play a crucial role in translating business problems into data-driven solutions and delivering rapid prototypes for various client projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data modeling, machine learning (ML) integration, and experience working with product teams in agile environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with product teams and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into data science solutions.
• Conduct data modeling, analysis, and integration of machine learning models.
• Utilize data science tools and technologies, including Python, SQL, and various ML frameworks including Langchain/LlamaIndex
• Develop and implement rapid prototypes and proof of concepts for diverse projects across various domains
• Communicate complex data science concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
• Work closely with data engineering teams to deploy and maintain production models.
• Conduct independent research and problem-solving to address unique challenges.
• Contribute to an agile development environment, participating in sprints and iterative development cycles.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist.
• Ability to plug and play different GenAI components for quick turnaround (including low code-no code platforms like LangGraph)
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision using established DS frameworks
• Proven experience with rapid prototyping and delivering PoCs.
• Strong ability to translate business problems into data solutions.
• Practical skills in data science tools, including Python, SQL, and various ML frameworks.
• Experience working with product teams in agile environments.
• Excellent communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Proactive problem-solving and independent research abilities.
• Experience working with production models and data engineering teams.
• Experience in required domain(s) such as finance, supply chain, and forecasting/inventory optimization is mandatory.
• Experience with computer vision is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
