Job DescriptionAs a Senior Data Scientist NIQ, you will lead the delivery of analytics and actionable insights across multiple markets, supporting clients in fast-evolving categories such as Fast-Moving Consumer Goods and Tech & Durable industry. You will leverage NIQ’s rich ecosystem of retail, panel, and digital data to uncover cross-market trends in technology adoption, channel dynamics, pricing, and innovation. Operating in a highly diverse regional landscape, you will play a critical role in ensuring consistency, scalability, and market relevance of Data Science solutions across APAC. You will act as a trusted advisor to regional clients and stakeholders, bridging global methodologies with local market dynamics.
- Own and scale Data Science solutions across APAC markets, ensuring consistency in methodologies while adapting to local data and client needs.
- Support Internal and External Clients with an understanding of Data Science design and methodology.
- Partner with commercial and senior leaders to support regional clients, providing insights on market trends, product innovation, and cross-country performance dynamics.
- Work on creating new solutions use cases, proof of concept and prototypes by exploring diverse data sets using tools such as python; implementing automation frameworks to improve efficiency and standardization of analytical processes across markets.
- Collaborate with Data Science, Commercial, Product, and Operations teams across APAC to ensure alignment, best practice sharing, and continuous improvement. Automate and develop solutions for existing processes.
- Support the development and coaching of regional Data Science talent, driving capability building and strengthening expertise across markets
Qualifications
You are a highly analytical and commercially driven data scientist with a strong interest in consumer behavior and technology markets across APAC. You are comfortable operating in a multi-market, matrix environment, balancing global standards with local nuances. You bring both technical depth and strong stakeholder management skills, enabling you to influence decisions across diverse cultural and business environments.
- Professionals with degrees in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or related fields involving statistical analysis of large data sets.
- 5+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or market research.
- Proven experience working in regional or multi-market environments (APAC preferred) and with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset, with the ability to structure and solve complex business challenges.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, effectively translating complex analyses for diverse audiences.
- Client-centric and consultative approach, with a strong focus on delivering business impact.
- Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and influence stakeholders across all organizational levels.
- Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions and manage multiple priorities concurrently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Proficiency in an additional Asian language (e.g., Mandarin) is an advantage, particularly for regional stakeholder engagement.
- Prior experience in leading team members is an added advantage.
