Role OverviewWe’re looking for a Data Scientist who can take full ownership of predictive modeling initiatives—from exploration to deployment. You’ll identify valuable datasets, build data‑driven proofs of concept, and bring production models to life that directly shape client strategy and HighPeak’s product roadmap. In addition to advanced technical expertise and experience, you will bring excellent problem solving, communication and teamwork skills, along with agile ways of working, strong business insight, an inclusive leadership attitude and a continuous learning focus to all that you do.
The current work arrangement for this position is Hybrid and requires your on-site a minimum of 3 days/week in our Newark, NJ location. For those outside of the commutable Newark location, we are open to virtual work arrangements.
Responsibilities- Design, build, and refine predictive models using large‑scale structured datasets
- Develop feature pipelines, evaluate model performance, and ensure production‑level reliability
- Partner with engineering to deploy, monitor, and iterate on ML systems in the cloud
- Translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable insights for internal and client stakeholders
- Contribute to shaping new data‑driven features and product capabilities
Qualifications- Master’s degree or higher in a quantitative field (PhD preferred)
- 1-5+ years of experience in data science or applied ML
- Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and modern ML frameworks
- Experience deploying models into production cloud environments
- Solid statistical foundation and familiarity with advanced ML techniques
- Ability to collaborate across technical and non‑technical teams in a fast‑paced environment
- Experience building APIs or lightweight web interfaces (required)
Preferred- Experience working with large, complex datasets
- Understanding of cloud‑based ML infrastructure
- Background in risk modeling, financial analytics, or health‑related data

What we offer you:Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $97,300.00 to $178,800.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.Market competitive base salaries, with a yearly bonus potential at every level.
