Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Data Platform Engineer (f/m/d) to strengthen our growing Data Platform Team. You will play a pivotal role in building, modernizing, and operating our next-generation cloud-native data platform—powered by Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, and the broader Azure ecosystem.
This is a unique opportunity to shape a scalable, secure, and efficient platform at the forefront of Microsoft's data technologies.

Your Responsibilities

Design and develop data pipelines and models using Microsoft Fabric and OneLake, with a strong focus on interoperability and performance using columnar formats like Parquet and efficient serialization formats like Protobuf.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product Owners, Azure Solution Architects, Data & Software Engineers) to drive a Fabric-native data platform that integrates seamlessly with Power BI.
Enable modern data architecture patterns, including Lakehouse, near real-time streaming, schema evolution, and efficient serialization in messaging and APIs.
Maintain and automate scalable data pipelines, emphasizing performance, metadata consistency, and optimal use of storage formats such as Parquet within the Microsoft ecosystem.
Champion DevOps practices, implementing CI/CD pipelines (via Azure DevOps or GitLab Pipelines) and Infrastructure-as-Code for consistent, secure deployment of Fabric-based solutions.
Monitor and optimize platform performance using observability tools, ensuring health, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
Drive cloud migration and modernization efforts, guiding the transition from Oracle-based systems to Microsoft Azure and Fabric, ensuring format and schema compatibility.
Mentor junior engineers, fostering best practices in modern data engineering, performance tuning, and platform evolution.

Requirements

Your Profile

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field.
5+ years of experience in enterprise-scale data platforms (Data Warehouse, Data lake, Data Lakehouse) with strong foundations in data modeling, pipeline development, and platform architecture.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Technologies such as Fabric, OneLake, Synapse, Data Factory, and Power BI in production environments.
Deep knowledge of data serialization and storage formats, including Protobuf (for efficient data exchange and schema evolution), Parquet (for optimal performance in analytical and lakehouse scenarios)
Background in Oracle-based platforms is a plus, particularly in platform migration contexts.
