Senior Data Engineer

zerohash is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to architect and build data pipelines, as well as become an expert of that data as we scale a gateway to Finance 2.0. We are a high performing team looking for an equally ambitious and driven teammate. The right candidate for this position is detail oriented, deeply technical and driven. This is a fully remote role for a candidate based in EU.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data
• Build and optimize data solutions using Databricks, Apache Spark, and AWS
• Develop high-quality, maintainable code using Python and data engineering best practices
• Collaborate with product teams and business stakeholders to understand the meaning of the data you are building for
• Create and maintain data models, data quality and monitoring processes
• Improve performance, reliability, and scalability of existing data infrastructure
• Troubleshoot data issues and implement solutions to ensure data accuracy and availability

• 5+ years of experience, preferably in the FinTech space
• Deep proficiency in Python for data processing, automation, and pipeline development
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with large-scale datasets
• Hands on experience with efficient use of AI coding platforms to elevate productivity; this role requires more than a vibe coder  
• Hands on experience developing, and maintaining high performance modern lakehouse architectures
• A humble and scrappy get-it-done mindset; you’re resourceful and in your element going from 0 to 1
• Excellent problem solving skills - can troubleshoot complex systems
• Comfort with ambiguity; the ability to independently lay out and test clear hypotheses and solve problems without well-defined direction
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field
• Hands-on experience with Databricks and Apache Spark.
• Experience with digital assets and blockchain
• Experience at a banking-as-a-service, brokerage-as a service, payment-as-a-service business
