First Circle is one of the fastest growing fintechs in South-East Asia, providing financial services to under-served SMEs. We have already transformed access to credit for thousands of small businesses in the Philippines, and we are now building a full-stack Neobank that will include multi-currency bank accounts, payments, FX, corporate credit cards, payroll.
Last year we raised Series B, led by the IFC (the World Bank's investment arm), and we are now hiring an excellent senior data engineer to play a pivotal part in the next chapter.
The Role
We’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer who can build, scale, and own our data infrastructure. You’ll work closely with product, credit, and risk teams to map the relationships between multiple product datasets and answer key questions around value, usage, and risk. This role is for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, fun environment and wants to build something exciting with us.
What You’ll Do
- Design systems that enable exceptional and predictive product experiences for customers enabled through the creative processing and inference of their payments, workflow, and other data
- Build and maintain scalable systems that collect, structure, and store large volumes of structured and unstructured data
- Expand our existing AI capabilities for data capture, processing, mapping, and use within the customer product
- Partner with company leadership to support risk analysis and product growth
- Take full ownership of data architecture, pipeline design, and reliability.
- Define and maintain clear relationships between datasets (e.g., credit, payments, invoices).
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles
- Proven experience in building data pipelines and structuring complex data ecosystems
- Strong SQL, Python, and data warehousing experience (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift)
- Track record in delivering customer value through your expertise
- Self-starter with strong ownership, autonomy, and problem-solving skills
Preferred:
- Experience in payments or other high throughput cases
- Familiarity with tools for real-time or streaming data
- Previous work in startups or high-growth environments
