Key Responsibilities
· Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and dbt models on Azure Databricks, delivering reliable Silver and Gold data layers for analytics and business consumption.
· Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform while implementing CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, logging, and automated deployments.
· Ensure high data quality by implementing validation frameworks, reconciliation checks, observability, and production support to meet pipeline SLAs.
· Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, engineering best practices, and technical guidance while contributing to reusable components and platform documentation.
Required Skills & Qualifications
· 5–8+ years of experience in Data Engineering within enterprise or large-scale data environments.
· Strong hands-on experience with Azure Databricks, dbt, Python, and SQL.
· Proven experience designing, building, and supporting production-grade ETL/ELT pipelines with monitoring, alerting, and incident resolution.
· Strong understanding of data modeling, distributed data systems, and Lakehouse architectures.
· Hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
· Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and Git-based version control.
· Knowledge of data quality, testing, and observability frameworks such as dbt tests, Great Expectations, or equivalent.
· Experience processing large-scale, terabyte-level datasets on enterprise data platforms.
· Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
Preferred Skills:
· Experience with Azure AI Search, Lakebase, or Databricks serving capabilities.
· Knowledge of real-time and streaming technologies such as Kafka, Event Hubs, or Delta Live Tables.
· Experience in insurance or financial services environments.
· Experience optimizing cloud performance and costs.
· Familiarity with Snowflake-to-Databricks migrations, Lakebridge, or cloud migration initiatives.
