We are seeking an experienced and versatile Cloud Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in managing and optimizing diverse database technologies across cloud platforms. This role demands a detail-oriented professional with a deep understanding of cloud-native solutions and a proactive approach to database architecture, security, and performance.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Database Management: Design, deploy, maintain, and optimize databases (relational, non-relational, and hybrid) on major cloud platforms like Azure, Google or AWS
- Migration Expertise: Assist in cloud migration projects, including assessment, planning, and execution of on-premises databases to cloud environments
- Security & Compliance: Ensure robust database security, implement data encryption, manage access controls, and maintain compliance with relevant standards
- Collaboration: Work closely with development, infrastructure, and operations teams to align database solutions with business goals
- Automation: Create scripts and automate routine database administration tasks to improve efficiency and consistency
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology/MCA, or a related field
- Experience with database backup and recovery strategies
- Solid knowledge and experience with Azure/GCP/AWS SQL Database, or similar cloud database services
- Solid scripting knowledge, preferably in PowerShell or Python, for automating database administration tasks
- Solid understanding of database performance tuning and query optimization techniques
- Proficient in SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle & PostgreSQL administration, including installation, configuration, and maintenance
- Technical Proficiencies:
- Cloud Platforms: Expertise in managing databases Azure (e.g., SQL Database, Cosmos DB), Google Cloud (e.g., Spanner, BigQuery) or in AWS (e.g., RDS, Aurora)
- Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with tools like CloudWatch, Datadog, and Prometheus for tracking database health and performance
- Scripting & Automation: Solid skills in PowerShell, Python, or Shell scripting for database management and DevOps workflows
- Relational Databases: Proficiency in SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle
- Proven excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Proven solid communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Oracle Certified and other relevant certifications in AWS, Azure, or SQL Server administration (e.g., AWS Certified Database - Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate)
- NoSQL Databases: Hands-on experience with MongoDB, Cassandra etc.
