Senior Data Engineer/Architect

Scrumconnect Consulting is a leading digital transformation consultancy delivering innovative solutions across the UK public sector. We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer / Architect to support the design of the WebCAF database, risk reporting tools, and integration services within a major digital transformation programme.

This role is suited to a highly experienced data professional with strong architecture and engineering capabilities across cloud-based data platforms and modern application environments.

The successful candidate will lead the design and implementation of scalable and secure data solutions, working closely with technical teams, delivery stakeholders, and end users to support reporting, analytics, and operational data services.

Please note: This role requires travel to Staines once a week.

• Design and implement the WebCAF database architecture and support associated risk reporting and integration services
  

• Create and maintain complex systems for storing, processing, and analysing data
  

• Develop and manage PostgreSQL databases within Azure environments
  

• Build and support data engineering solutions using Databricks, Python, and Django
  

• Design scalable and secure cloud-based data platforms and integration solutions
  

• Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders across the programme
  

• Present clear insights and data-driven recommendations to colleagues and internal stakeholders/users
  

• Ensure data solutions are secure, reliable, maintainable, and scalable
  

• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across data operations and platform performance
  

• Contribute to Agile delivery ceremonies and multidisciplinary team collaboration
  

• Strong experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale data solutions
  

• Expertise with PostgreSQL database technologies
  

• Strong hands-on experience with Databricks
  

• Strong programming experience using Python and Django
  

• Experience working within Microsoft Azure cloud environments
  

• Experience building secure, scalable, and high-performing data architectures
  

• Strong stakeholder communication and engagement skills
  

• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business insights
  

• Experience supporting reporting and integration services
  

• Good understanding of Agile delivery methodologies and practices
  

• Previous Public Sector experience is mandatory
  

• Active SC Clearance is mandatory
  

• Ability to travel to Staines or Newcastle once a week
