WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Centralize Business Logic: Identify decentralized logic (such as complex cost calculations currently living inside Power BI semantic models) and push it upstream into centralized, well-documented data models.
- Empower Self-Service: Provide our vertical power users with a clean, highly performant, and governed data foundation so they can confidently build the reports they need independently.
- Champion Data Governance: Drive data governance efforts across our growing self-service ecosystem, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across the company.
- Mentor & Elevate: Act as technical anchor for our team, mentoring on SQL optimization, dimensional modeling, and BI best practices.
- Deliver Product Analytics: Maintain and evolve core company reports while providing deep-dive analytics on our tech products to support strategic business decisions.
WHO YOU ARE
- Experienced Professional: You have 5+ years of experience in Data Analytics, Analytics Engineering, or Business Intelligence, with a strong track record of improving data infrastructure and performance.
- Tech Savvy: You possess expert-level SQL skills and extensive experience with Power BI (including DAX optimization and semantic models) and cloud data platforms like Azure (particularly Databricks). Ideally, you also bring hands-on experience with dbt and Google BigQuery as we plan to evolve our data stack.
- Architectural Thinker: You can easily identify bottlenecks in data pipelines or decentralized logic, and you take the initiative to design and implement efficient, scalable solutions.
- Collaborative Mentor: You are a team player who enjoys collaborating closely with data team members and stakeholders.
- Effective Communicator: You excel at translating complex technical concepts and governance standards to non-technical stakeholders and power users.
