Key Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with A&D Team for the timely evaluation of acquisitions, divestitures, and/or trades that arise from internally generated and third-party deal flow.
- Collaborate with geologic and operational staff to provide reservoir engineering input for development projects and drilling opportunities.
- Calculate well EURs, determine well spacing, generate type curves, and make acquisition and/or development recommendations based on return metrics for the corporation.
- Perform analysis and review of LOS/LOE, OpEx, differentials and other economic assumptions related to various acquisition opportunities.
- Analyze competitor data, development strategies, and industry trends to assist with identifying opportunities.
- Participate in special projects as assigned by management.
- Develop and present technical evaluations to team and management.
- Understand and track evaluation metrics (DCF,NAV, Transaction Comps, etc).
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering.
- Permian experience preferred.
- Exposure to operations preferred.
- 8+ years of reservoir engineering experience in unconventional development. 5+ years of multi-basin A&D experience preferred.
- Must have demonstrated experience working with multidisciplinary teams with a proven record as a strong team player and self-starter with the aptitude to innovate and be open to new ideas.
- Demonstrable proficiency with petroleum economic and forecasting software.
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively with individuals from multiple departments and disciplines at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to develop and make presentations to senior management as required.
- Ability to demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.
- Strong attention to detail and proactive approach to problems.
- Experienced in Aries and Spotfire, RTA a plus.
- Highly proficient in MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint).
- Ability to thrive in lean, fast paced environment.
