We are seeking a Security Automation Engineer to support onboarding, integration, and automation of security tools across acquired entities (AEs). This role combines hands-on Cloudflare support (DNS, onboarding, troubleshooting) with building scalable automation solutions using Python and APIs.
This is an ideal role for someone with solid automation experience, deep Python expertise, and solid networking fundamentals. Experience with Splunk SOAR and/or Cloudflare is a solid plus but not required.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Automation & Development
- Design and develop automation workflows to onboard and integrate security tools across Acquisitions
- Build Python-based integrations for platforms such as Cloudflare, Zscaler, Tanium, and others
- Develop and consume REST APIs (authentication, retries, pagination, error handling)
- Create and maintain automation playbooks using Splunk SOAR or similar orchestration tools
- Automate workflows such as:
- Domain and application onboarding
- Evidence collection and reporting
- Configuration validation and compliance checks
- Troubleshoot and optimize automation for performance, reliability, and scalability
- Cloudflare Support & Networking
- Support onboarding of domains and applications into Cloudflare (e.g., L7 partial setups, CNAME routing)
- Configure and troubleshoot DNS records (A, CNAME, TXT, etc.)
- Diagnose connectivity, routing, and performance issues
- Validate configurations including SSL/TLS, WAF policies, caching, and proxy behavior
- Assist stakeholders in resolving Cloudflare-related issues and onboarding challenges
- Collaboration & Operations
- Work closely with security, networking, and onboarding teams to deliver automation solutions
- Troubleshoot cross-system integration issues across multiple tools and platforms
- Document automation workflows, onboarding processes, and troubleshooting guides
- Escalate complex issues to SMEs or vendors when required
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience working with REST APIs
- Experience designing and building automation workflows or integration pipelines
- Solid understanding of:
- DNS and domain resolution
- HTTP/HTTPS and basic networking concepts
- Solid Python expertise
- Proven solid troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Proven ability to connect workflows across multiple systems and tools
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Splunk SOAR / Phantom or other orchestration tools
- Experience with Cloudflare:
- DNS management
- Proxying (orange/grey cloud)
- CDN, WAF, and caching concepts
- Experience with tools like Postman, curl, or browser dev tools
- Knowledge of OAuth2 or similar authentication mechanisms
- Familiarity with enterprise security tools (Zscaler, Tanium, SIEM platforms, etc.)
- Exposure to platforms like Smartsheet or ServiceNow
