JOB FUNCTION / SUMMARY:
The Senior Credit Analyst assists the bank in maintaining credit quality by underwriting complex commercial loan requests, training and developing department personnel, supporting portfolio and relationship managers, and managing workflow of the credit analysis staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Independently prepares credit packages for specialized or highly complex commercial loan requests.
- Prepares various reports including concentration reports, committed/unfunded reports and total exposure reporting, etc. and presents the information to appropriate committee.
- Performs structured financial analysis of customer financial statements and related material.
- Prepares financial statement pro forma analyses when requested by loan officers.
- Acts as an advisor to lines of business with regard to specialized portfolios and segment information.
- Works with management on special projects, providing recommendations and suggestions on presentation formats and content.
- Gathers information and prepares reports regarding exposure in the loan portfolio as needed by management and presents the information to appropriate committee.
- Acts as secretary to committees such as Wholesale Credit Admin. Comm., Consumer Finance Credit Administration Committee, Mortgage Loan Credit Administration Committee.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
May supervise day-to-day work of Credit Analyst, Financial Statement Specialist, and Intern positions, but not considered a formal management role.
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:
- Bachelor's degree required, Business Administration or Finance preferred.
- 18 months of related experience required.
- Formal training program completion or demonstrated ability and experience in analyzing complex credit transactions.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations; Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals; Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference; Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Experience with various Microsoft Professional Office software; Mastery of financial statement spreading software.

- Ability to travel if required to perform the essential job functions

- Ability to operate related equipment to perform the essential job functions
- Ability to read and interpret a document if required to perform the essential job functions
- Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 10 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions. If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department/division an “undue hardship” then the employee must be accommodated; hence omitting lifting/moving/carrying as a physical requirement.
