Senior Creative Designer

Job purpose:

We're looking for a Senior Creative Designer with an impressive portfolio of award-winning visual and digital work. This position focuses on creating high-impact, user-centered digital deliverables that are both visually appealing and functionally intuitive. The ideal applicant will contribute creative quality to all stages of the design process, from concept creation and ideation to execution, across a wide range of media and platforms.

Job details: 

• Location: 100% Remote – from Costa Rica
• Type of Contract: Full-time (Remote)
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Costa Rica Time Zone).
• Language Proficiency: Spanish: Advanced / Intermediate to advanced English (required)
• Availability: Immediate start required
  

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with creative teams to create quality visual design and engaging digital experiences.
• Deliver high-quality design work throughout all project phases.
• Tackle complex design and creative production tasks.
• Contribute creative thinking during brainstorming sessions, creative reviews, and project kick-offs.
• Produce visualizations such as sketches, storyboards, roughs, and mockups.
• Participate in website, email, and banner design and resizing projects.
• Execute creative production tasks: image retouching, illustration, infographics, presentations, GIF animations, image cuts, copy & design updates, and technical production.
• Work closely with creative, marketing, and development teams to deliver user-centered solutions.
• Create brand-consistent, strategically aligned creative deliverables.
• May lead creative efforts and manage creative teams.
• Mentor junior team members.
• Present and justify design solutions to various stakeholders.
• Solve problems creatively and effectively.
• Stay current with design trends, techniques, and technologies.
• Demonstrate strong self-management, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  

Required Academic Background:

Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field preferred.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Senior Designer, Graphic Designer, or similar role in the digital industry.
• Hands-on experience with image editing software, like Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
• Strong aesthetic skills with the ability to combine various colors, fonts, and layouts.
• Excellent portfolio showcasing a wide range of design projects across various mediums.
• Proficient in design software (e.g., InDesign and Balsamiq).
• Proven experience in Visual, Web Design and Creative Production.
• Ability to work across different design styles and media.
• Preferred: Experience as an Art Director.
• Experience in storytelling-based concept creation.
• Ability to think creatively and develop innovative design solutions that align with business objectives.
• Detail-oriented with clean design execution.
• Proven leadership abilities, with the capacity to mentor and guide junior designers.
• Illustration and UX design skills are a plus.
• Knowledge of motion graphics is a significant advantage.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
