Job Description
Reporting to:
The Sr. Cost Accountant will report to the Plant Controller in Madison.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Fiscal Close:
- Run various reports required for fiscal close
- Prepare and enter month JE's associated with inventory and COGS accounts
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations with supporting documentation
- Work with different departments to gather information necessary for fiscal close
Standard Costs
- Reviewing of new standards and activation of costs in Foreign entities
- Assist the Plant Controller with variance analysis related to capitalized variances
Inventory:
- Ownership of Perpetual Inventory for multiple entities
- Assist with research on general inventory questions.
- Analyze and assist with the quarterly DHL to AX reconciliation.
Business Support:
- Maintain relationships with various business partners
- Preparation of required SOX and audit schedules
- Maintain document controls, processes and procedures needed to ensure SOX compliance
- Assist with and ensure successful audits.
- Ensure process integrity within Manufacturing Inventory and Inter-Company Inventory while working with cross-functional peers to resolve process issues.
Qualifications:
a. Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
- 2-3 years Experience as a staff accountant or cost accountant
- Advanced Excel (Pivot tables, sum-ifs, etc.) and other MS Office products is required.
- Strong accounting knowledge with a high degree of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate findings into relevant, actionable recommendations/processes.
- Strong organization, planning, and tactical execution abilities.
- Team player with proven ability to work in a collaborative environment.
- Highly committed, results-oriented self-starter with a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and take ownership for driving assignments to closure.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; comfortable interacting with business teams and leadership.
- Ability to work on their own initiative, part of a team, and be forward thinking.

Accuray pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Accuray Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
