Job Description

We’re looking for a Senior Copywriter to join Creative X, the internal agency for Fortune Brands Innovations—a concept‑driven, narrative‑obsessed creative leader who will elevate how our brands communicate their stories to the world. This role blends strategic thinking, verbal craft, and brand stewardship, shaping compelling messaging that inspires consumers, empowers professional customers, strengthens brand equity, and drives business results across our mass premium and luxury portfolios.

As a senior creative on the team, you will partner closely with Brand, Product, Channel, and cross-functional stakeholders to develop insight‑driven messaging that reflects our brand standards while pushing them forward. You’ll lead copy development across integrated campaigns, digital content, social storytelling, video, retail, packaging, and experiential moments, ensuring everything we write feels cohesive, elevated, and strategically grounded.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, embraces emerging technologies like GenAI, and brings a strong point of view on language, brand storytelling, and creative innovation.

Job Responsibilities

Brand Leadership & Creative Development

  • Lead copy development for Moen and House of Rohl across omnichannel campaigns, ensuring all messaging is cohesive, insight‑driven, and aligned with brand strategy.
  • Translate business goals, consumer insights, and brand positioning into compelling narratives, campaign platforms, and messaging frameworks.
  • Partner with art directors, designers, and business stakeholders to concept integrated ideas that drive engagement, preference, and conversion.
  • Elevate the premium and luxury nature of our brands through refined messaging, tonal sophistication, and storytelling excellence.

Cross-Functional & Stakeholder Partnership

  • Collaborate with Marketing, Product, and cross-functional partners to understand goals and shape creative solutions that meet both brand and business objectives.
  • Present creative concepts, messaging direction, and rationale to senior stakeholders with clarity, confidence, and strategic insight.
  • Serve as a trusted creative partner, helping teams articulate challenges, identify opportunities, and refine briefs before execution begins.

Creative Craft & Team Collaboration

  • Lead copywriting across video scripts, campaign narratives, digital experiences, social storytelling, and packaging language, ensuring consistency and craft across all touchpoints.
  • Mentor and inspire junior writers and creatives, fostering a culture of curiosity, craft excellence, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Contribute to the evolution of verbal identity and brand guidelines, ensuring they remain modern, consistent, and culturally relevant.

Innovation & Performance

  • Apply insights and category trends to strengthen storytelling relevance and creative impact.
  • Leverage GenAI and emerging creative technologies to accelerate ideation, expand messaging exploration, and improve efficient production.
  • Partner with production and cross‑functional teams to streamline workflows and ensure high‑quality delivery across all asset types.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least 7 years of copywriting or creative writing experience within an agency or in‑house creative team or High School Diploma and at least 10 years of copywriting or creative writing experience within an agency or in‑house creative team.
  • Strong conceptual and storytelling skills, supported by a portfolio demonstrating excellence across integrated campaigns, digital experiences, and content creation.
  • Experience concepting and writing for video and photo production, with a solid understanding of narrative flow, script structure, and cross‑screen storytelling.
  • Expertise in digital‑first storytelling, social content, and emerging formats; familiarity with retail and packaging language preferred.
  • Background in home, lifestyle, design, luxury, or other aesthetically driven categories preferred.
  • Working knowledge of creative production processes, including collaboration with art directors, editors, and motion teams.
  • Experience leveraging GenAI tools to enhance creative workflows and exploration.
  • Exceptional collaboration, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate writing choices in terms of strategy and brand impact.
  • A proactive, solutions‑oriented mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑performing environment.
