Summary of This Role

The Senior Copy Editor will be responsible for reviewing and editing digital and print marketing materials to ensure high-quality, error-free content that reflects the company's brand voice and messaging. This role will work closely with the content, marketing and product teams to ensure all written materials, from website copy to email campaigns, blog posts, whitepapers and case studies are polished, cohesive and persuasive.

  • Key responsibilities:
    Content editing and proofreading:
    Edit and proofread marketing materials for clarity, grammar, punctuation, style and consistency. Ensure content is error-free and aligns with the goals of the stakeholder’s creative brief.

    Brand voice and consistency:
    Maintain consistency across all marketing materials, ensuring messaging aligns with our brand tone and style and the target audience while adhering to best practices. 

    Collaboration with teams:
    Work closely with copywriters, designers, product teams and marketing managers to review and refine copy for digital ads, website content, blogs, social media posts, newsletters, email campaigns, whitepapers and more. 

    SEO optimization:
    Ensure that content is optimized for search engines without sacrificing readability or brand integrity. Review copy for SEO best practices, including strategic keyword usage, meta descriptions and alt text for images.

    Content strategy support:
    Provide thoughtful feedback and specific suggestions for content strategy based on a strong understanding of the payment processing sector, technology trends and target audience preferences.

    Documentation and communication:
    Ensure all style guides, project blueprints and review processes reflect the evolving needs of the company’s brand and messaging. Update documentation accordingly and share updates with staff writers.

    Positive editing culture: 
    Foster a positive relationship with copywriters that upholds our cultural values. Maintain a supportive environment focused on skill development and collaboration that encourages creativity and deep subject matter expertise. 
     

What Are We Looking For in This Role?

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Marketing, Journalism or a related field
    5+ years of experience in copy editing, preferably within a technology or SaaS company, with exposure to the financial services or payment processing industry
    Strong editing and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail and an understanding of grammar, punctuation and the latest AP style guidelines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with SEO and digital content creation best practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide constructive feedback to writers and content creators
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Familiarity with the tech industry — particularly payment processing and fintech — is a plus
  • Proficiency in Wrike project management tool, Google Workplace and basic knowledge of analytics tools is a plus
