What You’ll Do
Automation & Controls Engineering
- Lead automation controls engineering efforts across production lines and equipment.
- Design, program, test, and optimize PLC- and HMI-based control systems.
- Support machine automation technologies, including motion control, machine vision, industrial robotics, sensors, safety systems, and related control devices.
- Develop control strategies to improve cycle time, reliability, quality, and throughput.
Software & Controls Development
- Write, debug, and implement PLC and HMI applications, primarily in Rockwell Studio 5000 and FactoryTalk platforms.
- Develop automation logic, control sequences, interlocks, alarms, and user interfaces.
System Integration
- Integrate automation equipment with plant-floor systems, including sensors, robots, instrumentation, and data acquisition devices.
- Collaborate with equipment suppliers, manufacturing engineering, and operations to implement new equipment and upgrades.
System Architecture & Networking
- Design control system architectures, control panels, communication networks, and industrial device connectivity.
- Support OT cybersecurity best practices within automation controls environments.
Commissioning & Support
- Lead troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and support of control systems in live production environments.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives tied to equipment performance, uptime, and automation maturity.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline—or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on controls engineering experience, including PLC programming, HMI development, and industrial automation support.
- Strong proficiency with Allen‑Bradley PLCs and Rockwell Automation software.
- Solid understanding of industrial control networks and communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, OPC, Modbus, TCP/IP, etc.).
- Experience integrating automation hardware (sensors, actuators, motion control, robotics, drives, etc.).
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with proven ability to resolve complex automation issues.
- Experience driving projects independently with strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel up to 5%.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with machine vision, robotics, and advanced motion control systems.
- Knowledge of SQL databases, data collection, and basic data integration.
- Familiarity with Python or scripting for automation support tasks.
- Understanding of MES/ERP connectivity or plant-floor data systems (not required but beneficial).
- Exposure to Industry 4.0 concepts, edge devices, or IIoT connectivity.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) or modern data tools (Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
- Understanding of ISA standards such as ISA‑95 or ISA/IEC 62443 (cybersecurity).
