Range:

66,400.00 - 99,600.00 CAD

Job Description:

We are ready to take this game to the next level and need a passionate Senior Contract Specialist who is responsible for supporting the contract lifecycle between OLG and suppliers / vendors (excluding Service Providers) within an assigned portfolio and ensuring adherence to terms and conditions of the contract.

YOUR ROLE IN THE GAME

Reporting to the Director Category Management you will be empowered to engage in the following role accountabilities:

Supplier & Contracts Management:

  • In alignment with Category Management approach & team, supports the contract lifecycle from contract mobilization and finalization, ongoing management of active contracts to contract renewal.

  • Create draft MSA’s and/or SOW’s for new engagements, renewals and amendments, engaging business for review of contract clauses, terms and conditions to ensure accuracy within the agreement and scope requirements, and ensuring proper approval authority has sponsored the agreement.

  • Throughout the execution of contracts, ensures that the necessary evidence of changes, amendments or any significant events or shortcomings on the front of performance of contractual obligations are addressed, retained for records and are resolved in accordance with the policies in place in the organization.

  • Support & facilitate, where required, meetings with vendors and legal counsel to negotiate contract terms / conditions and work schedules.

  • Manages timely contract renewals, providing notice and ensuring consistency and responsibility for renewal options and requirements.

  • Manages and tracks the contract and related issues/disputes on an ongoing basis. Act as first point of contact for any breach of contract terms, and any issues / disputes that arise.

  • Ensure contract language is accurate and complete, capturing stakeholder and user requirements, including OLG legal terms and conditions and AGCO regulatory requirements.

  • Monitor adherence to corporate policies when obtaining new services or continuing services beyond the term of a contract in a matter that promotes competition, ensures compliance with applicable laws and policies and maintains corporate integrity.

  • Supports the development and subsequent updating of a vendor scorecard or alternative vendor performance approach, where relevant, and participates in joint periodic review with the supplier and the Business representatives.

  • Pro-actively identifies and/or supports exit or transition strategies and socializes it with the divisional end users as individual contracts conclude.

Relationship Management:

  • Engage with key stakeholders within OLG as related to contract management, such as with Legal Counsel, HR, and Finance to review contract clauses, terms and conditions and to review pricing for new services as to determine whether contract is appropriately structured and documented.

  • Collaborate closely with Senior Sourcing Specialists and Senior Category Managers to ensure contract development, amendments, and renewals align with sourcing strategies, competitive processes and category objectives.

  • Engage with Senior Contract Specialist peers supporting other Category Directors to exchange best practices, align on standards, and strengthen cross‑portfolio contract management.

  • Consult with business on contractual requirements and provide direction and advice on project scope of work while working within limits of corporate procurement policies.

  • This role interacts externally with vendors, providing direction and advice regarding processes, policies, procedures and regulations to ensure understanding of requirements and positioning of contract negotiations, and coordinate meetings to resolve issues with contract wording and terms and conditions

  • Participate in relevant division business planning and review sessions to stay aligned with their priorities, current state of affairs, and upcoming changes.

  • Support operations improvement projects, including cost reduction, optimization, cost/benefit analyses

  • Foster an environment that encourages employee engagement and motivates team members to perform at their very best.

  • Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by leveraging LEAN type thinking to encouraged and recognize opportunities to generate and implement innovative ideas.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE GAME
 

Knowledge:

  • University Degree (Supply Chain, Business and/or Legal preferred)

  • NISCL-CSCL, MCIPS Designation are  an asset

  • Knowledge of the source to contract process

  • In depth knowledge of sourcing within applicable category

Experience:

  • 3 - 5+ Years Sourcing or Contract Management Experience

  • Experience with IT and SaaS contracts, including familiarity with online Terms and Conditions, subscription models, Service level arrangements, data protection, and cloud-based service arrangements.

  • Experience with spend analytics and identifying savings opportunities

  • Knowledge of Procurement Law and/or Procurement practices are an asset.

  • Experience in reviewing competitive documents against vendor proposals is an asset.

  • Sound knowledge of all OLG Operations in relation to Procurement and contractual requirements and/or government procurement would be an asset.

Critical Skills:

  • Strong analytics skills, including using Excel to analyze procurement spend

  • Skilled in market research to identify trends and opportunities

  • Skilled in contract negotiations and editing

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills to lead cross functional teams

  • Strong negotiation skills

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Results oriented individual with superior customer service skills and proven ability to work in a team environment.
