We are hiring a Senior Consultant / Project Manager to join Roland Berger’s Amsterdam office and expand the mobility team. If you answered yes to the questions above, then keep reading for a unique career opportunity!

The Roland Berger Amsterdam DNA

Roland Berger is one of the top international strategic consulting firms in the world, with over 50 offices and 3,500 dedicated colleagues worldwide. Our Amsterdam office, established in 2002, is home to about 160 professional and ambitious individuals from a range of backgrounds and nationalities.

We live by our three core values: entrepreneurship, excellence and empathy. These values form the basis of our work as consultants and our interactions with clients, business partners and communities, and define our corporate culture. We take pride in our close-knit culture, which is creative, dedicated and respectful. We support one another to excel for our clients and engage in various activities outside of work to enhance cohesiveness, from sports and drinks to trips and holiday celebrations.

What we offer

Your adventure truly begins when you start at Roland Berger. From day one, you get the space and assurance you need to keep developing yourself: we offer plenty of opportunities for development, (inter)national training courses and a mentor for support. You are also offered an individual trajectory with a coach tailored to you and your personal development plans. You can follow an MBA at a leading business school, (temporarily) transfer to another Roland Berger office or intern at another company ("externship"). You are the architect of your career. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer excellent benefits, including 30 days of vacation, an electric lease car, a non-contributory pension and a contribution to your health insurance premium.

What you will be doing

As a Senior Consultant / Project Manager at Roland Berger focusing on mobility, you will collaborate with Senior Partner Casper Veenman, who has advised clients both in the Netherlands and abroad for many years, accumulating a wealth of knowledge and experience in the national and international mobility industry.

Roland Berger stands out among strategy consultancy firms in the Netherlands for its focus on mobility, showcasing a notably robust track record in this area. The projects often take place at the intersection of energy, automotive and investor support encompassing various perspectives such as e-mobility, aerospace, shipping, logistics, and telematics. They address themes like digital transformation, decarbonization, and innovation. The focus mainly lies on operational improvement, innovative management, market analyses and sector development.

Therefore, you get to work on projects which have a significant impact on society, the environment, and the economy. You will also have considerable autonomy in your responsibilities and will become an integral part of Roland Berger's expanding practice. By working closely with senior leadership at leading and well-known companies in the mobility industry, you play a direct role in shaping the direction of these organizations and, by extension, have an impact on the future of mobility.

As a Senior Consultant / Project Manager at Roland Berger you will:

  • Take the lead for modules in larger projects, and complete project management of smaller projects (typically leading three to five consultants), with a specific focus on mobility.

  • Take an active role in business development efforts.

  • Coach and develop the consultants in your project teams.

  • Have direct client contact and lead presentations during client meetings.

  • Work closely with industry experts at Roland Berger.

  • Contribute to Roland Berger’s knowledge development by capturing insights and drawing lessons from client work.

  • Participate in office-wide projects (e.g. in-depth studies on current topics) that further develop Roland Berger or its thinking in a specific area or sector.

Do you recognize yourself in the following qualifications, competencies and skills?

  • You have completed an academic university education (i.e. WO).

  • You have between four and ten years of experience in (strategy) consulting, with a focus on mobility being highly preferred, and/or experience in a strategic or operational role within the mobility industry. Prior experience in strategic, project-based work is required.

  • You have experience managing others and delegating work to more junior team members.

  • You are familiar with/experienced in (financial) modeling (Microsoft Excel), visualizing presentations (Microsoft PowerPoint) and storytelling.

  • You can think analytically and structure arguments clearly.

  • You work with precision.

  • You are open-minded.

  • You have good oral, written and presentation skills and an excellent command of English and Dutch.
