This role is part of the Office of Internal Audit’s Digital Audit team and will report to the AVP, Internal Audit Technology Audit leader. This role will be responsible for the following areas: 

  • Lead the center of excellence within Internal Audit for the use of process mining capabilities by building process-related data models, the development of analytics, training auditors in the use of the tools and other related activities. As such, a strong technical acumen and strong partnership skills will be required 

  • Provide leadership and support in the digital auditor development program. 

  • Explore, identify & implement emerging technology for the Office and collaborate with various groups on technology-related efforts. 

  • Contribute and lead other various office Strategic Initiatives and StratOps projects as needed. 

As a process analytic engineer, you are an integral member of our agile audit teams to accelerate and drive Celonis’ expansion within Nationwide and Internal Audit. To generate high-value use cases, you work closely with our auditors and customers performing data transformations, conducting analyses, and developing data-driven process insights and actions. As a result, you’ll drive delivery of value-added insights across the breadth of Nationwide in partnership with our Internal Audit teams.

  • Actively drive the Celonis Process Mining technology forward 

  • Ensure the optimal solution tackles the client’s and/or auditor’s pain points 

  • Employ Machine Learning algorithms to design innovative analyses and execution apps to make the client’s processes transparent 

  • Identify process inefficiencies and understand the root causes – ALWAYS in close collaboration with the customer 

In addition to your strong written and verbal communication skills that enable you to interact directly with clients and auditors, you’ll possess the following…. 

  • Experience in IT Consulting, Management Consulting, Process Improvement, or similar area  

  • Seasoned, experienced professional with a solid understanding of area role responsibilities; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Informatics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or other Information-oriented degree program 

  • Basic to moderate knowledge of SQL  

  • Strong interest and/or experience in Big Data, Data Mining, and Process Mining 

  • Experience with other programming languages such as Python, R, etc. are highly desired 

This is a hybrid position located in Columbus Ohio and you will be required to come into the office two days per week. 

This role does not qualify for employer sponsored work authorization. Nationwide does not participate in the STEM OPT extension program.

As a Senior Consultant, you'll lead the development of business analytics strategies. We'll count on you to consult with business partners to understand, align and deliver solutions that support business needs. It will be important to effectively build and maintain relationships to enhance analytic capabilities across the organization.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Structures and leads large complex analyses and build projects across one or more business units. Effectively synthesizes analytic results to improve business outcomes, support decision-making at executive levels and enable process improvements. Grows and evolves the data management and analytics profession to maximize effectiveness.

  • Synthesizes data needs to identify areas for process simplification and data integration opportunities, providing recommendations, leadership and coaching on solutions for the project team. Reviews analytic products and provides meaningful feedback and coaching.

  • Ensures analytic applications are aligned to business needs and support objectives. 

  • Acts as the technology owner (e.g. applications, systems, software, etc.) for data analytics when required. 

  • Understands standards for implementation of analytic data asset builds into the Model Factory. Leads in standard methodologies for accessing data across a diverse array of technologies and storage mechanisms.

  • Demonstrates expert knowledge of statistical techniques and advanced machine learning algorithms. Creates, packages, and communicates analytic work (synthesis) using appropriate statistical techniques to determine patterns to drive business outcomes and trends. Builds analytic applications using statistical, database and/or general programming languages and tools.

  • Provides input, when required, on associate management, including performance, administration, training and development, workflow and organizational planning and hiring and placement.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to Associate Vice President or above. May have the opportunity to manage associates. 

Typical Skills and Experiences: 

Education: Undergraduate studies required in computer science, mathematics, analytic, data science, and related degrees. Specialization in data and analytics preferred; SQL skills may be required; master's degree is a plus.

Experience: More than ten years of demonstrated experience in role responsibilities.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Expertise (increasing with the level) is expected for query languages such as SQL, database architecture and data warehousing, reporting tools (e.g., Tableau), requirements development, cloud computing, UNIX/Linux terminal and/or shell scripting experience. Programming languages such as Python, R, SAS, RESTful API’s and endpoint, Spark or other distributed computing platforms, machine learning experience, data modeling and mining a plus. Experience in the financial services industry, especially in insurance, is desired. Enterprise data assets is desired.

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and Human Resources Business Partner.

The national salary range for Senior Consultant, Analytic Engineering : $149,000.00-$262,000.00

The expected starting salary range for Senior Consultant, Analytic Engineering : $149,000.00 - $223,000.00
