This position will be based in Seoul, Korea and reporting to the regional Ethics & Compliance Director. The Korea Senior Compliance Manager will lead Ethics and Compliance in South Korea, be part of the leadership team, and oversee the local compliance program and related activities.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Ensuring Medtronic’s Business Conduct Standards and other Compliance Programs and Policies are understood, processes are in place to comply with the requirements, and employees are appropriately trained.

  • Developing and advancing Compliance controls and procedures to properly reflect local laws/regulations as well as applicable industry code for S. Korea.

  • Meaningfully contributing timely, strategic and practical compliance consultations to local Leadership team.

  • Ensuring adequate record maintenance and processes are in place to document compliance efforts.

  • Participating in the annual risk assessment process and ensure regional work plans are aligned with the compliance risks.

  • Collaborating with Regional and other key stakeholder functions to integrate compliance considerations into business processes.

  • Fostering the culture of ethical behavior and integrity throughout the organization including channels and 3rd party vendors in conducting business.

  • Assisting audit/monitoring review and business conduct investigations, establishing feasible remedial action plans and corrective measures and supervising the execution and implementation on the ground.

  • Mastering the effectiveness of local Compliance program, leading the standardization and optimization of local workflows to align with company goals and objectives. 

  • Representing company in local industry associations and/or Compliance committees on advocating business ethics.

  • Nice to have: privacy skillsets

  • Other tasks assigned by regional Compliance Officer.

  

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Requires a Bachelor degree and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in the healthcare industry

  • Fluent on both of Korean and English

  • Data Literacy and analytical skills: to be able to detect patterns risks and conduct risk assessments

  • Strong communication skills with a solution-oriented mindset: Able to articulate complex regulations in simple terms to various stakeholders.

  • Coordination skills

  • Crisis Management: Responding calmly, quickly and effectively to compliance breaches.
