What You'll Do - You'll Make the Moment

  • Review, investigate and recommend action, as appropriate, in response to wage and hour complaints and employment law concerns. Investigation includes conducting interviews, reviewing documentation, and drafting formal investigation summaries.
  • Auditing and analyzing company payroll records, timecards and related documents in response to complaints
  • Interacts with federal and state agencies related to charges of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, as well as investigate and draft responses to such charges and participating in any related mediation activities
  • Reviews, investigates, and address any attorney demand letters related to wage and hour and other employment law complaints or claims, including discrimination, harassment, and retaliation
  • Weekly audits of state labor law requirements related to meals and rest breaks and company messaging requirements and, in turn, weekly remediation of any issues.
  • Stay up to date on legal updates related to employment law compliance, including developing manager training programs to ensure compliance with these laws
  • Assist in wage and hour litigation activities
  • Acts a project partner related to Company initiatives impacting compliance
  • Conducts special or sensitive investigations as requested by the legal department
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant investigator experience
  • Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations, including the Fair Labor Standards Act and equivalent state-level regulations
  • Highly skilled at reviewing financial business records and payroll data
  • Strong conflict resolution skills
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to relay legal concepts, policies, documents in a manner easily understood by non-lawyers
  • Ability to analyze compliance issues, and provide practical, business-oriented solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively across various teams and departments and maintain strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional proficiency with Microsoft Office and related business software.
  • Ability to work extended hours seated at a computer.
  • Frequent use of hands and arms to reach, grasp, and manipulate objects.
