Responsible for the management of risk processes in the commercial (Inquiry-to-Order) phase, including contract negotiation, risk review and approval, and overall engagement with the proposal generation process and commercial negotiations. Ensure commercial intensity and compliance to the Grid Solutions Deal Risk Management process (Policy 5.0). Drive change through adaption and localization initiatives (North America); improve rigor in deal making and closure; and support Operational Excellence by ensuring proper risk management throughout the deal lifecycle, while closely aligned to customer CTQs. Lead customer negotiations, ensuring an acceptable risk profile (given the specific scope of supply and deal dynamics) and engage with approvers and subject-matter experts as necessary. Review and redline customer terms and conditions (T&Cs) and other commercial documents. Own the ComOps and respective risk process including: using tools and governance instances; ensuring development of consistent operations in “Inquiry-to-Order” (ITO); and adhering to policies, processes, and metrics. Drive early engagement, strategy development and approvals with region, product management, operations, and supporting functions. Partner with Tendering to ensure high quality winning proposals, as well as with Sales to align commercial strategy with region’s plan for orders, cash and margin. Design and drive implementation of proposal standards and new commercial models to increase market reach. Ensure seamless hand-over of signed contracts to the Operations Team. Drive change management and challenge current commercial processes to reduce cycle times and costs. Improve service quality and mitigation plans; define appropriate commercial strategy. Qualifications / Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Finance, Legal, Engineering, or related. Seven (7) years of experience in Commercial Operations, Sourcing and Procurement, or Contract Management within the energy industry. Work experience to include: Negotiating contracts for the purchase of high voltage equipment or systems; Structuring and negotiating contracts to minimize business risk; Redlining contracts and ensuring contract terms and conditions align with given commercial strategy; Presenting final contract terms, deviations, and associated risk management findings to senior leaders and executives; Experience with EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) projects or full-Turn-Key projects (including design, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning) to develop complex proposals or to structure complex deals; CRM or SRM software for accurate data reporting and governance; Responding to audits including collection of relevant documentation to demonstrate compliance with applicable policies and DOA; Lean methodology to improve overall ITO process; and Cross functional coordination between customers and internal relevant functions (e.g., legal, finance, operations, tax, logistics).
