JOB MISSION:

The Senior Commercial Director, EMEA is responsible for developing the regional commercial strategy for our owned and operated markets across UK, France, Germany, Austria, Benelux, Italy and Iberia. You will maintain a regional approach across all markets whilst maintaining cultural variances. You will develop and deliver strategies to maximise revenue and profitability growth targets. 

The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of the sports industry and a proven track record to implement strategic initiatives that will impact the commercial output. This role will require extensive travel across Europe. We offer hybrid working and a flexibility to working hours to accommodate for a healthy work life balance.

This role can be based out of our Warrington, UK or Amsterdam Office.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Develop the growth strategies and plans the short, mid and long term goals, partnering with the Strategy team when appropriate
  • Set country order book growth targets by category, account, product type, futures, ASAP and clearance business
  • Continually monitor and measure sales results and develop plans with Country Managers to maximise sales
  • Monitor pricing and profitability across the region to ensure best possible outcomes
  • Establish and maintain harmonised discount programmes across all markets
  • Partner with Merchandising to determine the most effective distribution strategy for the region
  • Partner with Marketing to ensure programmes meet commercial needs
  • Develop effective top to top relationships with key customers
  • Maximise profit growth opportunities through appropriate cost management, pricing and partner programmes
  • Utilise Sales Planning function for the optimisation of order book management
  • Ensure consistent, standardized approach to sales forecasting, order book management and reporting in all markets
  • Responsible for inventory levels ensuring a balance between supply and demand on core products and adequate supply of in line to maximise futures and ASAP business
  • Ownership of responsible disposal of excess inventory
  • Ensure effective input of sales perspective into the demand planning process
  • Motivate and lead Country Managers and their teams to achieve their sales revenue and profit targets. 
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to team members to support their growth and development. 
  • Operate with a strong One NB, EMEA focused perspective on all issues. 
  • Demonstrate responsible leadership and be the champion of the company values and culture.  

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:

  • Previous experience working at senior leadership level
  • Thorough understanding of the European sports industry
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication, influencing and negotiation skills  
  • Highly results driven and able to motivate teams effectively to achieve results 
  • Commercially astute, data driven with strong financial and analytical skills 
  • Support and coach senior managers to achieve their potential 
  • Previous experience in line management
  • Strategic approach with the ability to develop short to long range plans 
  • Develop standardised approaches across the sales function 
  • Pro-active problem-solver who can work effectively in partnership with others 
  • Strong focus on relationship building with internal and external customers 
  • Resilient and optimistic outlook and able to work well under pressure
  • Fluent in English is essential and other European languages are beneficial
