Job Duties and Responsibilities
We are seeking a Technology Development Engineer with expertise in Nokia and Oracle Core Network Functions (NF) and hands-on experience in deploying and troubleshooting cloud-hosted core network workloads on AWS. The ideal candidate will be responsible for deploying, and validating telco Network Functions (VNFs/CNFs) in a development environment, ensuring seamless integration, performance optimization, and troubleshooting of network functions.
Preferred candidates will also have teleco knowledge and an understanding of cloud native frameworks. This role requires strong collaboration with network engineers, cloud architects, and test teams to optimize network performance and support advanced telecom solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deploy, integrate, and troubleshoot VNF/CNF Core Network Functions on AWS EC2, EKS, and Outposts, including Nokia and Oracle NFs (AMF, SMF, UPF, etc.)
- Perform end-to-end 4G/5G call flow testing, validate core-RAN interoperability, and support end-to-end connectivity
- Configure AWS networking (VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect) and monitor performance using CloudWatch, X-Ray, and GuardDuty
- Automate infrastructure and testing with Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation; refine pipelines with DevOps and CloudOps teams
- Analyze traffic with tools like Wireshark and Nokia NetAct; troubleshoot latency, packet loss, and scaling issues
- Document deployment procedures, troubleshooting steps, and collaborate with AWS and Core vendors to enhance system reliability
Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field with 5+ years in telecom network engineering
- Deep expertise in Nokia and Oracle Core NFs (AMF, SMF, UPF, NRF, PCF, SCP) and 4G/5G RAN/Core architecture
- Proven experience deploying Core NFs on AWS (EC2, EKS, VPC, Direct Connect, IAM, KMS)
- Skilled in containerized NFs, Kubernetes, and network automation tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Helm)
- Strong troubleshooting with Wireshark, tcpdump, Nokia NetAct, and solid Linux admin/scripting skills (Bash, Python, Ansible)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and testing
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working Knowledge of RAN architectures
- Understanding cloud native architectures
- Experience with network slicing, MEC, and edge computing solutions
- Familiarity with AI/ML techniques as applied to network operations
- Nokia or Oracle certifications (e.g., Nokia 5G Core Professional, Oracle Core NF certifications)
- AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate/Professional)

Salary Ranges
Compensation: $96,250.00/Year - $150,000.00/Year
