Role Overview

As a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for architecting, developing, and operating our Kubernetes-based backend infrastructure. You will help build and scale a cutting-edge AI cloud infrastructure that supports GPU-accelerated workloads. You will collaborate closely with other teams to design new services, define APIs and protocols, and ensure seamless integration of infrastructure services that enable new AI-driven product features. Your role will also involve maintaining and optimizing our bare-metal Kubernetes clusters, developing automation solutions, and providing expertise in system administration, networking, and virtualization technologies.

Beyond technical contributions, you will also play a key role in mentoring junior engineers, sharing best practices, and fostering a collaborative engineering culture within the team. Your leadership will help ensure the continuous growth and development of our engineering organization while keeping pace with the evolving AI and cloud landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Optimize AI Workloads on Kubernetes
  • Architect and manage bare-metal Kubernetes clusters to efficiently run AI and GPU-intensive workloads.
  • Design, develop, and maintain Kubernetes operators to automate AI infrastructure scaling.
  • Improve networking and storage performance for AI-driven cloud applications.
• Develop and Operate AI Cloud Backend
  • Build and deploy Kubernetes-based microservices that support AI applications
  • Automate and optimize AI model deployment pipelines using GitOps principles
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of AI workloads in production.
• Mentor and Support Engineering Teams
  • Act as a technical mentor for junior engineers and Cloud Infrastructure specialists
  • Foster a culture of automation and best practices within the team.
  • Conduct training sessions on Kubernetes administration and cloud-native technologies.
• Cloud Infrastructure Administration & Security
  • Monitor, debug, and upgrade bare-metal Kubernetes environments.
  • Implement and refine RBAC policies for secure, multi-tenant AI cloud infrastructure.
  • Maintain Linux systems, network configurations, and storage solutions for AI workloads.
• Networking & Virtualization for AI Cloud
  • ​​​​​​​Optimize networking infrastructure (BGP , EVPN, Infiniband) to enhance AI workload performance.
  • Maintain and enhance AI-focused virtualized compute clusters (KubeVirt, libvirt, QEMU).
  • Configure PCI pass-through for high-performance AI model execution.
• Infrastructure Automation & Continuous Improvement
  • ​​​​​​​Implement CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and observability tools to streamline operations.
  • Drive GitOps adoption to automate deployments and scaling.
  • Evaluate and integrate emerging cloud-native technologies to enhance AI infrastructure.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Must-Have Skills
  • Strong experience with Kubernetes, Helm, and CRDs in AI cloud environments.
  • Proven expertise in infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible, Flux, GitOps).
  • Experience with storage solutions (Ceph, V AST, NFS, S3) optimized for AI workloads.
  • Proficiency in Python, shell scripting, and API development (gRPC/HTTP-JSON).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for large-scale distributed systems.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and observability tools.
  • Excellent collaboration and problem-solving skills, with a proactive mindset.
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English.
• Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Understanding of networking concepts relevant to cloud infrastructure (e.g., VLANs, routing, firewalls, load balancing).
  • Familiarity with KubeVirt, libvirt, qemu for AI-focused virtualization.
  • Experience working with policy-based security frameworks (OPA, Kyverno).
  • Knowledge of data center operations, hardware selection, and high-performance computing architectures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively during incident management and resolution.
  • Contributions to open-source Kubernetes or cloud-native projects.
