The Role

Copper River Cyber Solutions is seeking a Senior Cloud Administrator to join our team in support of a new contract at the Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Responsiveness. This position will be performed remotely with the occasional need for an onsite meeting in the Washington D.C. area.

The Senior Cloud Administrator is responsible for the administration aspects of our client’s AWS cloud environment, including creating, managing, fine tuning, and maintaining. Working with Project Team Leads and Project Managers to produce high quality products.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Serve as a Senior Cloud Administrator
  • Develop cloud formation templates to build immutable infrastructure on AWS
  • Able to work in an agile, cross-functional team
  • Drive technical innovation and efficiency in infrastructure operations via automation and orchestration Conduct capacity planning analysis and cloud budget planning
  • Manage the monitoring, updating, optimization, redundancy, stability of cloud systems
  • Perform AWS environment troubleshooting and setup
  • Meet customer SLAs and managing communication in case of issues
  • Configure and maintain cloud backup, monitoring and alerting systems for multiple clients
  • Administrate automated deployments and scripting using Bash, yaml, PowerShell
  • Assist other teams with provisioning and getting appropriate access to AWS resources
  • Work with the team to estimate the cost footprint of new AWS resources and services and conduct general forecasts for our AWS architecture
  • Support AWS infrastructure changes during planned maintenance windows, as well as ad-hoc support for unplanned outages
  • Ensure Cloud orchestration and automation capability is operating based on target SLAs with minimal downtime
  • Advises of feasibility of potential future projects to management
  • Producing quality documentation
  • Working with end-users
  • Participate in internal planning and reporting processes
  • Work with Project Team Leads
  • Ensure standards are followed as directed by Project Team Leads
  • Participate in special projects as required

Requirements:

  • Clearance:
    • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
  • Education:
    • Bachelors degree or prior, relevant experience in lieu of a degree
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience
    • Experience with implementation and administration of AWS cloud environments
    • Experience designing, implementing, troubleshooting, analyzing, and maintaining AWS cloud environments
    • Experience managing, configurating, and supporting AWS cloud environments
    • Experience performing AWS cloud upgrades
    • Experience creating and presenting technical specifications and requirements
    • Experience producing quality documentation
    • Experience working with Federal government clients
  • Preferred Skills:
    • AWS Cloud knowledge and experience
    • Microsoft 365 knowledge and experience a plus
    • SharePoint knowledge and experience a plus
    • Platform and data migration knowledge and experience a plus
    • Cyber Security knowledge and experience a plus
