POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sr. Cloud Engineer is responsible for the design and management of cloud-based systems on behalf of BMC. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify appropriate solutions, implement system modifications, and ensure alignment with organizational needs and objectives. The position designs, implements, and manages cloud-based data solutions, including the movement of data between on-premises and cloud environments. It is responsible for optimizing data storage and ensuring data security and compliance within established standards and requirements. The role operates with limited supervision and contributes to the reliability, scalability, and performance of cloud systems that support data-driven business operations across the organization.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
Builds data pipelines and scalable data processing systems in cloud environments.
Designs, constructs, and tests data lakes, data warehouses, data lake houses, and databases.
Designs and implements data pipelines using cloud-native tools and services.
Develops ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for data ingestion and transformation.
Writes and optimizes SQL and Python queries for data retrieval and analysis.
Optimizes data workflows to improve performance and efficiency.
Collaborates with leadership, analysts, Research, and cross-functional teams to define data requirements and reporting needs across departments.
Implements data solutions aligned with business and technical requirements; applies data governance, access controls, security, and compliance standards; and provides system troubleshooting and support.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of Five (5) or more years of experience in data engineering or related roles, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Compensation Range:
$89,500.00- $130,000.00This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, skills, and certifications/licensures as they directly relate to position requirements; as well as business/organizational needs, internal equity, and market-competitiveness.
