Position

Interactive Brokers (IBKR) seeks an Operations Associate to join our Clearing Department at our Budapest office. The Clearing Department is responsible for various functions, including trade and position reconciliation, settlement processing, stock loan (securities lending) transaction reconciliation, fail management, and client account transfers. Team members will generally gain exposure to many of these functions during their career development. 

The Associate will be expected to operate, enhance, and test the group’s constantly evolving, proprietary back office systems. Analysis of transaction data, settlement risk and other operational risk assessments will be an ongoing responsibility. The ideal candidate will be able to interface seamlessly with internal and external customers, counterparties, and clearing organizations. All associates are expected to focus on automated solutions to complex problems of varying degrees. Skills required include the ability to learn to work with sophisticated computer systems developers, eventually including the creation of business specifications for new or enhanced system functionality and new product support.

  • Settlement processing and fail management.
  • Understand Stock loan (securities lending) operation, reconciliation, and support.
  • Derivative clearing system monitoring and operating.
  • Coordinate with clearing houses and central securities depositories to maintain the clearing system.
Qualifications, Skills & AttributesMinimum Qualifications:
  • Three or more years of working experience, preferably in the banking or finance industry.
  • Experience, coursework, and/or a strong interest in or of following the securities markets.
  • Proficient MS Office user; eager to learn new programs and products.
  • Languages: Fluent in English.
  • Detail-oriented and able to work accurately under pressure.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Open-minded team player with good comprehension skills.
