The Specialist of Cash Application performs all cash posting activities across Ensemble Health Partners. Job duties include, but are not limited to, posting remittance advice to patient accounts, resolving any errors after posting payments, posting guarantor payments, reconciling all posted cash with bank, requesting refunds, and credit balance management. They will perform these duties while meeting the goals of Ensemble Health Partners, as well as meeting the regulatory compliance requirements.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Posting remittance advice to patient accounts, resolving any errors after posting payments, posting guarantor payments, reconciling all posted cash, and requesting refunds.
  • Performs reviews of AR reports and identifies posting issues, root cause analysis and develops action plans.
  • Investigates and resolves unapplied cash
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • High School Diploma or GED2 Year/ associate’s degree
  • Preferred Minimum Education - Specialty/Major: Business or relevant discipline
  • Minimum Years and Type of Experience: Must be Internal Candidate at the Level I Credit Balance or Cash Application Specialist level for at least six (6) months to be eligible. No External candidates will be considered for this role.
  • Candidates cannot have had a Disciplinary Action within the six (6) months of applying immediately preceding application for progression
  • Internal Candidates cannot have any occurrences on record within ninety (90) days of applying.
  • Must pass typing test of forty (40) words per minute (Error Adjusted)
  • Must pass 10-key test of 12,000 KPM and >98% Accuracy
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel skills required
  • Revenue Cycle Proficiency test – pass rate of 90% or above
  • Pass advanced math test as provided by the Education department
  • Commit to working overtime, weekend, and open to schedule modifications to meet business needs
